In this article, we’ll tell you all about dining at Disney Wish, from themed dinners to casual breakfasts and lunches at Marceline Market. If you missed it, check out our complete overview of Disney cruises.
To be honest, I go on a cruise ship with mediocre expectations for the food. I’ve been on cruises a few times in my life and the food is always good, but rarely great. Our overall impressions of the food on our Disney cruise ranged from good to excellent. There was nothing to dislike. Here’s an overview of Disney Wish themed dinners and casual breakfasts and lunches.

The coolest thing about a Disney cruise, unlike any cruise you’ve been on before, is the rotating dining room. Rather than going to the same table in the same dining room each night, with perhaps a different menu, you’ll have three different dining rooms throughout the cruise, each with a completely different theme. Wish had a 1920s, Marvel, and Frozen theme. I think I enjoyed the 1923 dining experience the most, but I really enjoyed the other two themes as well. You can see all the restaurants on Disney’s website. I would also like to add that my sister is gluten free and there were gluten free options at every stop and sometimes we had to ask.
dining time
Things to note: There are two dining seats for everyone, one at 5:45 and one at 8:15. When we booked our cruise (a long time ago, I might add), the only meal time left was 8:15. With three kids under the age of 10, we knew it wasn’t going to work this time. I thought it would be difficult even for adults. We were on the 5:45 wait list and were so happy when our meal times were updated a few hours before our first dinner. If it had been 8:15, we would have had a completely different dining experience. I so appreciate that they were able to accommodate our large group with early seating.
Dress up and go to dinner!
1923 dinner party
We stayed the first two nights in 1923. This was a great assignment two nights in a row as there wasn’t an over-the-top theme. We loved drinking fancy bourbon cocktails. I love everything about the 1920s, so this was my personal favorite theme. The dining room features original props from Disney movies, including a bust of The Little Mermaid and animation sketches.
The kids had a different activity book each night, so they were captivated for the first 15 minutes or so. Another reason why Disney is so kid-friendly! They also had children’s cups with lids and brought all of our drink requests. The next night, the same drinks were already on the table. The children’s menu was extensive, with lots of kid-friendly dishes, and a few extras for the more adventurous. Mazen, 12, ordered with an adult and enjoyed lobster and steak.
burrata and prosciutto
I love this app! The burrata was perfect and I loved the toffee seed crackers and candied orange. We also had an Old Fashioned drink special with maple and bacon!
salad course
I was a little underwhelmed since this one was so veggie-centric, but I loved the cheese and candied nuts.
Start your journey with filet mignon!
dessert
I can’t even remember what this was, but it was a vanilla cloud. I loved it and all the little bites behind it.
1923 2nd night
The next night we were assigned 1923 again, which was fine with me. We also had the same service team throughout the entire cruise. They also accompanied Marvel and Arendelle. It was great to get to know them and get to know us.
The second night started at Boulevardier!
It came with a chocolate topper.
seafood sampler
Menus often included seafood medleys with smoked salmon, marinated shrimp, and cold tuna as appetizers. This was delicious.
sea bass
I ate it with sea bass and celeriac puree, parsnips, and sea broccoli! This wasn’t my cup of tea (it’s hard to eat a lot of fish!), but I’m not that picky, so I enjoyed it!
caramel sundae
I find that sundaes are often the best dessert. And this caramel sundae was my favorite dessert of the trip.
Happy new year!
world of marvel
The third night was Marvel themed! The dining room was very modern in contrast to 1923, with screens everywhere playing stories about our ship and Marvel characters. I’m not much of a Marvel fan so I don’t even remember who they were. But the equipment on our table was lit and Mazen got a really cool special drink with the equipment.
wedge salad
beef tenderloin
Key lime pie!
In case you didn’t get the hint, it was also pirate night. The ship provided pirate bandanas for everyone in the stateroom, and some brought accessories. Others were dressed as Pirates of the Nines! Poor Birch, we didn’t know to bring all his costumes. 🙁
Arendelle
Our last night, and our final dining room, was Frozen themed Arendelle. This was very enjoyable as there was lots of singing and music throughout the dinner.
Princesses are also excited to dress up!
Take a look at the kids menu
Another delicious seafood sampler!
Visit of characters
There was also music and singing in the middle of the room. Unfortunately, the view wasn’t great, but the sounds were good. The servers also sang along!
salmon salad bowl
I wasn’t able to take a good photo of the salad bowl, but I was so full on my last night that I ate a light meal! This was a salmon salad with quinoa and was exactly what I needed.
Mint chocolate chip sundaes for everyone!
casual dining
Breakfast and lunch can be eaten in the dining room or in the casual restaurant. We ended up having a casual breakfast all together, but my sister and her group did a formal breakfast a few times. For casuals, there were two options. Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods (on the pool deck with category-specific stations) and Marceline Market. We ate tacos and pizza on the pool deck on the first day, but other than that we ate at Marceline or on the shore of the island.
Hand washing station at Marceline Market
Marceline Market
For adults, there were stations all over the place and staff served us so we didn’t have to come into contact with other people’s germs. Even the silverware arrived wrapped in bundles instead of in big containers that everyone was touching. There was a wide variety of food, and a lot of it was very healthy!
I loved Marceline’s kids counter! It was low to the ground for kids to see and had a wide selection of kid-friendly favorites, from Mickey waffles to chicken tenders to small veggie cups.
Salmon salad and sweet potato fries
The salad was pre-made so you could buy it at the station and I loved it. You can also add any protein on top (Mazen lives his best life eating jelly!).
Mazen is also living his best life with all-you-can-eat crab legs!
breakfast
I often had eggs (the eggs were so good!), muesli, fruit, and sometimes donuts or pastries for breakfast.
There was also a small mango-like smoothie here. You can even see Mickey waffles in the back! For kids, there are also pancakes filled with buttermilk, chocolate chips, and blueberries.
The food at Disney Wish was overall very delicious!! I left each night satisfied and full – perhaps too full!! Even though I try to incorporate salads and snacks into my daily life. figure. I liked that casual meals were served buffet style at the station to minimize germs. I would give Disney Wish food a 9/10!
