Maven’s simple tips

Use what you have. One of the things that make Green Goddess Salad so great is that it can be easily customized to your taste. Do you prefer kale over cabbage? no problem! Do you have romaine on hand? Use it instead. The dressing can also be customized based on the herbs you have at hand.

Make it in advance. Unlike most salads, this Green Goddess Salad recipe is easy to prepare in advance and can be seated in the fridge for 2-3 days of serving. Perfect for preparing meals or dinner parties.

Let’s enter your greenery. It’s the perfect way to add vegetables! To stir green with some cube or mashed avocado.

This salad has been a tiktok craze these days, but if you’re OG, you know it’s been around for a while. Years ago, I shared my eco-friendly goddess salad dressing, the perfect dressing recipe when you put extra herbs in it.

I’ve made suggestions on how to use it, but I’ve noticed that some people would prefer a little more direction when it comes to these types of recipes.

Thanks to the baking of Melissa and the Tiktoc Green Goddess Salad, we made a big comeback. Bring some cabbage! Bring the cucumbers! Don’t forget the green onions! Therefore, if you are yearning for the goodness of the slightly green goddess, you don’t need to look any more than my version.

Ingredients for the Green Goddess Salad

Cabbage – A finely shredded Napa cabbage (my preference) or one of green cabbage. If you have a mandolin, feel free to use it. Green Onion – A large handful of about 6 green onions. Cucumber – One large British cucumber or two medium Persian cucumbers. Chives – I like to use these in salads and dressings, but feel free to use them in dressings if necessary.

Ingredients for the green goddess dressing

Plain Greek Yogurt – I like Greek but you can use your chosen plain yogurt herbs, such as coriander, basil, mint, parsley, tarragon, chives, green onion, dill, and more. It tastes very good. Salt and black pepper jalapeño – optional, but I love the spicy kick!

My personal favorite combinations are coriander, basil and dill, but honestly, every combination is done. Use whatever you have on hand!

Be vegan!

If you want a vegan green goddess recipe, replace Greek yogurt with one large avocado + 1/4 cup of water.

How to make a green goddess salad

Step 2: Throw the salad

Throw all the salad ingredients in a large bowl. Top with the dressing (the desired amount) and mix.

Add-ons + Swap

To add protein boost to grilled chicken, crunchy bacon, or vegetarian options, these crunchy chickpeas will be tasty!

Replace the cabbage with other voluminous greens. If you don’t have cabbage or don’t like cabbage, we recommend sinking into another heart green, like shredded kale, thinly sliced Brussels sprouts, or finely chopped romaine lettuce.

Add fennel. I love adding fennel for a bit of energy. I slice it thinly and throw it straight away. You may need to add a little extra dressing.

Please kick it. I use jalapeño for my Green Goddess dressing, but by adding more or less seeds, I can adjust the spiciness to suit my taste.
