Stored at room temperature tends to be soft, but as it doesn’t melt, you can hide in small Easter plastic eggs or wrap them in small bags to find for your kids for Easter morning celebrations.
Milkless Chocolate Easter Candy You can feel good about what you have with your kids, and of course you can sneak in one or two for all the hard work to get them right?
Traditional dark chocolate easter bunny ingredients
Typically, a typical chocolate Easter bunny is a hollow bunny. Our dairy-free ingredients for this better East Leat are for sturdy bunnies and contain no artificial colors, preservatives or sugar.
Hollow milk chocolate Easter bunny consists of sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk flour, chocolate, soy lecithin or sunflower lecithin (emulsifier), and vanilla.

Can I use unsweetened chocolate instead of cocoa powder?
If you want to use unsweetened cocoa butter or dark chocolate, you can exchange unsweetened cocoa powder.
Place coconut oil in a small bowl and melt 1 ounce of unsweetened regular chocolate, whisk until smooth, then add to the remaining ingredients.
You can also use sugar-free chocolate chips if you like. If you use sugar-free chocolate chips or bars, you may not need sweeteners, but many people don’t have dairy products so check the ingredients.
The great sugar-free chocolate options brands are Lily’s Sweets and Choczero. Both sell candies that are perfect for the Easter season if you don’t have time to make anything.
Can I replace the stevia?
If you don’t like stevia, you can leave it to sweeten the plant-based chocolate bunny mixture with any sweetener you like.
It helps you to use my sweetener guide and conversion chart to determine how much you want to use. Always start with a small amount and then taste if you need more before placing the mixture in a bunny mold and curing.

Can these be turned into white chocolate bunnies?
yes! If you don’t want a dark chocolate bunny, here’s my recipe for white coconut bunny.
What is coconut butter?
Coconut butter is made by pureeing or grinding coconut meat, which contains oil and fiber. It has a creamy, thick texture similar to peanut butter and other nut butters.
Do not confuse coconut oil with coconut butter.
Coconut oil is extracted only from the fat content of coconut meat. It is a warm liquid, and a cool, solid temperature. In this dark chocolate bunny recipe, do not replace coconut butter with coconut oil.
Can I exchange coconut butter?
If you don’t want to buy coconut butter, you can exchange it for almond butter, peanut butter, or cashew butter, all of them are nuts that have a stronger flavor than coconut butter and are common food allergies for many.
These trees also keep nuts free and can be exchanged for sunflower seed butter, a common food allergen-free option.
Can I change the coconut oil?
If you don’t need to make these dairy-free milkless Easter bunnies or vegan-friendly bunnies, you can swap coconut oil for butter.
Do they dissolve at room temperature?
These coconut sugar-free bunnies do not melt at room temperature, but they tender in warmer climates.
