Are all the new night setting sprays from Urban Decay as good as OG?

So that’s not getting in the way, the biggest question for us and all nighters is wherever we are. How does this new setting spray compare to OG? After over a decade of night use under my belt, I put a new shiny iteration into my test.

How do all the new night setting spray formulas compare to the old ones?

All night players will have three finishes: natural, glow and matte. For the purposes of this review, I will only focus on the natural finish that is closest to the original.

We have sent the complete ingredient list of the original setting spray and a new natural finishing formula to cosmetics Kered Boss. As far as she knows, the two are officially quite similar. There are three important differences. “We see that the new formula has a more robust preservative system,” she explains. Urban Decay also adds an antioxidant called Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, which Dobos can bring this to long-term formula integrity. Finally, “The brand may have moved from using liquid aloe to a lyophilized versions, which helps maintain the stability of that ingredient until it is incorporated into the product,” Dobos says. Her best guess is that the city’s collapse did it. This is because liquid aloe extracts are “hard to maintain against microbial contamination.”

And what about all the night cooling effects? According to Dobos, the new formula contains exactly the same cooling ingredients as the original. “Diisopropylpropionamide, encapsulated primarily in polyhydroxystearic acid, is a key coolant for both iterations of the formula,” she says. “Ethanol evaporation from the skin also provides a cooling sensation, the same cooling sensation you feel after applying an ethanol-based hand sanitizer.” That said, as Skindinavia’s patents on the formula are still active, Urban Decay is legally required to use different concentrations of these ingredients.

Urban Decay’s press material claims that the brand has extended the durability of the setting spray from 16 hours to 24 hours, but Dobos was unable to identify any obvious formulaic differences or additions that provide 50% longer wear times. “The formula ingredient list isn’t that different, so it’s hard to say without further lab research (whether one lasts longer than the other),” she says. “If they could increase PVP, I think the previous main films would be able to do so without having any harmful effects on skin sensations.”

Do all the newer versions of Nighters work just like the old ones?

In my opinion, the experience using all the original night games was almost perfect. So I used it consistently because I was a teenager. You can’t see me now and know it, but I was in my 20s who used to have a full beat up until the last call almost every weekend. While applying makeup (after powdering the complexion and again at the end of the full routine again), I set it with all the night games along with all the night games. I think that’s why my appearance lasts for hours through sweaty heat waves, storms, snowstorms and common dirt on New York City diving bars. Despite not wearing much makeup anymore, it remained a staple of my routine in my 30s. I want the little thing I’m doing to stay there.
