Bald Island 2025

We did something amazing on the 4th of July on Bald Island. Here is a summary of the highlights of the first half of our trip! Part II will be coming on the next 4th of July!

We’ve compiled a crazy travel season with a family trip to Bald Island! We met our parents, sister, her husband and my nie at a new rental house in the ocean. We enjoyed lots of family time and sunshine (predictably we are lucky as it rained every day!)

Both boys loved the sea this year. Mazen was a very confident swimmer, and although this was his first year, Birch really loved the ocean (despite being “crushed” by many waves).

Bald Island: Summer 25!

We met our Southport family and had a very early dinner with our sister’s step-in-law who lives there. Then we boarded the island on the ferry at 6pm.

Our home this year was amazing! Spacious 3 king bedrooms.

We spent our first day at the beach!

And this was the only photo I took 🙂

Parents’ night out

My parents saw all four grandchildren on the first night, allowing our young parents to go out for a lovely dinner.

We went to Aqua at Shoals Club and had it on the porch.

Spicy marg

I had some delicious crab and grits fish!

We finished dinner early but didn’t want to go home before bed so we went to a bald head bottle for another drink.

And then it was too early to get home, so I got some ice cream! This key lime and coconut combo was the highlight of the night for me!

Most mornings I had bagels and yogurt bowls for breakfast. We then took a walk at the beach for about an hour every day.

BHI Club

When the kids got tired of the beach, we went to the club pool several times (like when men played golf!) the pool was busy, but the kids loved water slides and zero entry. I had Aperol Splitz around 4:30 🙂

They loved the group bingo that was happening one afternoon.

Shoals Club Dinner

Latitudes, the Shoal’s Club Bar, does something half-special on Monday, so Clifford Younger loves to go tonight! The food was so delicious we almost almost ordered everything. I also enjoyed the old stuff!

Family photos

Another tradition: lots of photos and dance to live music with Grammys!

Part II is coming tomorrow!
