Traditional espresso martini carbs
According to App Cronometer, one of the traditional espresso martini has 310 calories, 31 grams of carbohydrates and 23 grams of sugar.
This is not something you indulge in if you follow a keto diet, a low-carb diet, or if you want to have less sugar in your diet. This will cause a sudden increase in blood sugar levels and lead to sugar cravings.

Simple ingredients and alternatives
espresso
Here, the newly brewed espresso is essential for its deep coffee flavor. If you don’t have an espresso machine, a strong brewed coffee will work well as an alternative.
Coffee liqueur alternatives
Instead of traditional coffee liqueurs containing sugar and alcohol, this recipe uses sugar-free coffee simple syrup and flavorful coffee extracts and rum extracts to add sweetness and depth.
sweetener
I chose to make my simple sugar-free syrup, keto-friendly liquid sweeteners like vanilla stevia and monk fruit. If you’re new to Keto Sweeteners, start with fewer places and adjust to your preferences.
Lots of ice
Crushed or cubic ice will cool the drink cleanly, mellow strong espresso and mix all ingredients into a completely refreshing snack.

Chef Tips
#1 Brew Espresso Fresh
For the best flavor, brew espresso just before making the mocktail. The newly brewed espresso has a richer crema and a more intense aroma, which really makes this drink come true.
#2 Cool the glass
Pop a martini glass in the freezer while preparing your drink. When you serve this mocktail in chilled glass, the silky texture continues as is, making every bite enjoyable.
#3 Use the shaker properly
When it’s shaking, do not simply sway easily, but attack actively for 15-20 seconds. This makes the drinks bothersome and creates an attractive layer of foaming on top, which is the signature of the espresso martini.
#4 Sweetener Balance
Keto sweeteners can vary in sweetness strength, so start with a small amount and a taste as you go. In this way, avoid excessive adjustments that can hide the subtle coffee flavor.
#5 Experiment with extracts
If you want to jazz up your mocktail, drops of vanilla or almond extract add an amazing dimension to beautifully pair with espresso without adding any carbs.
#6 Use fresh ice
Old or partially melted ice water will descend to your drink. Fresh ice cubes keep the flavor crisp and ensure a proper cooling factor without diluting the mocktail too quickly.
#7 Decorate with coffee beans
Add a little talent by garnishing three coffee beans on top of the foam. The simple but classic touch that means this drink means business even without alcohol.

Flavor booster
Add a pinch of cinnamon
Sprinkle a shaker with a little cinnamon and adds warmth and subtle spices to beautifully complement your coffee notes without any extra carbs.
Uses flavorful extracts
One teaspoon of vanilla extract, almonds, or hazelnut extract adds complexity. With just a few drops, you can turn your simple mocktail into an unforgettable, delicious drink.
Whipped cream topping
For a luxurious twist, the sugar-free whipped cream population on top brings a creamy luxury to balance out a strong espresso bite.
Cocoa powder dust
Light dusting in unsweetened cocoa powder adds a mocha vibe and visually makes the moctail feel like a special occasion.

Troubleshooting common issues
The mocktail tastes bitter
If your espresso is overwhelming, try using a less intense blend of espresso and reducing the amount a little.
Aftertaste of sweetener
Some keto sweeteners have a noticeable aftertaste, but my favorite of liquid mocktails and cocktails is my keto simple syrup.
Feel free to replace it with another sweetener of your choice.
There is no foamy layer
Use fresh, hot brewed espresso and shake the mocktail vigorously with ice. If your shaker is not sealed enough or too large, you may not be able to get such a beautiful creamy foam.
I don’t recommend using cold brew coffee as you won’t get a foam top.
It’s too watery
To avoid dilution, use fresh, solid ice cubes rather than crushed or melted. It is also powerful enough to double check the ratio of espresso to water.
Can I make this mocktail in advance?
It’s best to enjoy fresh stuff due to the foamy and creamy texture, but you can prepare an espresso base and sweetener mix in advance. Simply shake with ice and cream just before serving.
What else can I use besides making simple sugar-free syrup?
If you don’t have time to make a simple syrock recipe for keto, we recommend purchasing liquid allureus or using vanilla liquid stevia or liquid monk fruit.
Can I use instant coffee?
I don’t recommend instant coffee or instant espresso for this espresso moc tail. I think you can still get a nice foamy top with hot brewed regular coffee.
Is this recipe caffeine-free?
No, this recipe contains real espresso, so it has caffeine. If you want a caffeine-free version, use decaff espresso or strong decaff coffee instead.
How many carbohydrates does this mocktail have?
This mocktail has zero carbohydrates.
Can I add alcohol to this recipe?
If you want to turn it into a classic espresso martini local bush cocktail, just add vodka and have a delicious espresso coffee keto cocktail.
Can I add some heavy whipped cream?
Of course, if you want a creamy drink, you can add a bit of heavy cream to your glass. Perfect for white Russian mock sales!
Do you need a martini glass size?
I bought two of these 10oz martini glass sets, and the 8oz is an excellent espresso martini glass for this recipe too.

If you need to foam on the glass, wait for the espresso to brew until you have prepared all the other ingredients in a cocktail shaker or mason jar. It’s very important to use hot brewed espresso on this, so swaying with ice will give you that foamy creamy top.
Pour into a cocktail shaker and stir with simple syrup, coffee extract, lamb extract, and optional non-alcoholic vodka and/or cream. Add the ice and then brewed espresso.
Cool well and shake vigorously until it foams. Distorts into martini glass. Decorate and serve with coffee beans.
