About Omid Safi:
Dr. Omid Safi is the director of the Center for Islamic Studies at Duke University. He specializes in the study of Islamic mysticism and modern Islam, and frequently writes about the liberationist traditions of Dr. King and Malcolm X, and is committed to traditions that combine love with justice.
