“The Heart’s Awakening” has subtitles “108 Steps to a Life of Love.” It explores ways that we can bring more kindness, compassion and gratitude to our lives. These enrich our lives and make us happy.
It explains how to overcome anger, hatred, res, and light empty.
One thing that deals with is how we undermine ourselves through self-criticism. Many people in our lives have criticized us to “improve” us. We internalize that strategy to the point where we can’t imagine living without it, even if we dislike it!
The teachings in my book show us how to support and encourage ourselves instead through kindness. When we do this, it makes such a difference in our lives. We recognize that we are experiencing a life where we are hurting ourselves with self-criticism. And I wonder why we put off doing something important. Well, isn’t it a bit natural to avoid doing things just by criticizing yourself for not “completely” it?
There is a better way. And that’s not that difficult. It starts with learning to show yourself a little warmth and encouragement using soft, kind eyes (what I describe in the book), kinder inner communication, and other methods.
