Chrissy Teigen casually opened up about the latest cosmetic procedure she received. A few days after bandages on Instagram Live, the 39-year-old took him to an Instagram story, where he shared that he is currently healed from a surgery that lowered his hairline.
“Hello! (sic) A lot of people are wondering about my hospital photos, which I have very understanding because I haven’t explained,” she captioned the May 23rd photo. “There was a procedure to reduce the hairline.”
Teigen went on to explain that her hair had become thinner after giving birth. “We lost a lot in front of the baby and it’s very thin there,” she said. “When you see it on the carpet, it’s always an extension.” The model and cooking author shares her husband and four children. John Legend: Luna, 9, Mile, 7, Esti, 2, and Ren, 1.
Postpartum hair loss is fairly common and can occur as a result of postpartum stress and lower estrogen levels. New York dermatologist Dabal G. Banusari, MD, told Newbeauty in a previous story that she can notice hair loss and thinning as early as six weeks after giving birth. The dropout itself can last between 6 and 12 months. Those who experience hair thinning can often take hair growth supplements, add protein-rich foods to their diet, and use specialized hair products such as serum, shampoos and conditioners that promote density. However, of course, in-office procedures such as PRP injections and cost reduction surgery are also options.
This isn’t Teigen’s first opening about undergoing cosmetic surgery. In 2021, she spoke about removal of cheek fat and brow grafting, which is merely the removal of fat between the cheekbones and jaw bones. Long before that, she got her breast implants, but in 2020 she revealed she was removing them.
Teigen has concluded her Instagram story confession that details about her hairline surgery will come later. “If you’re interested in traveling, I’ll share more later, because that’s really a journey.”
