Ego and non-meditation

Ego and non-meditation

The beginning of the dialogue…with you.

everyone. So I wanted to make this incredibly beautiful video for you. Um, my setup, um, I didn’t want to set it up today (00:13). So I’m just making this video for you. Well, today’s topic I wanted to talk about is, um, the role of the self and self does not involve the role of the ego in non-double meditation. And I want to do this as a dialogue. So I’ll do this very short video like under 5 minutes. And let’s see what your question is. And then create another video. Maybe in a different setup or the same setup that answers your question, you can have a video dialog like this one here. Well, that sounds fun, isn’t it? Wow!

Umm, there’s a lot of confusion, there’s a lot of it, um, um, um, useless ideas, and (01:03) um, um, ideas that lead to misleading people, and um, um, confusion (01:16) ego ideas. And let me talk about this from my perspective and my perspective and practical perspective (01:25), which comes from traditions like non-sect Shaivatantra, Mahamudra and Zogchen, rather than from other traditions. This is not another tradition. There’s not just one view about this. Yeah, I think (01:41) there is a way of this story that comes from some of the traditions of ego being a complete fantasy. It is not (01:47) and must be seen as destroyed or carved or engraved. And, um, you know, we let those (02:02) traditions speak for ourselves, but I don’t see it like this.

Yes, of course, ego is construction. Yes (02:09) We even see them being developed into people since they were little kids. As you know, if you (02:15) have your own children, or one day you have children, if it occurs, they (02:21) will appear in the course of ego formation. It’s something we build over time. So it’s obviously a structure. That (02:29) is not a certain essence. Well, people, as you know, you will see what they are doing with the kids (02:35). There are a few there. But over time, you (02:42) know that developmentally we build this thing called the ego and add layers of ego over time. Um, (02:50) Yes, it’s that structure, we can see that structure, and we can see it. Anything. But that’s where we really exist. And the ego knows us, um, um, you (03:23), persona, our masks we use to navigate the world of human society. And of course, necessary, uh, (03:33) ego twins are shadows, something that doesn’t help us navigate society, or anything that enters the road (03:39).

But, uh, in some way it’s inappropriate. It doesn’t have to be negative and difficult. That’s (03:46) that society doesn’t want to be in something like other bottles called shadows (03:46). But in the case of (03:54), we see that this, uh, the structure of thoughts, emotions and body sensations and the obvious place (04:02), and everything we can call ego. And it often sounds like we’re supposed to get rid of it, destroy it, or it’s an enemy, or somehow it’s a bad thing (04:08). (04:15) Of course, through withdrawal of meditation, deep meditation, sometimes other experiences, trauma, car accidents, (04:23) drugs, all sorts of things, we know we’re not there for a while (04:31) and it can be very relief. It’s pretty, um, comfortable. And, as you know, (04:39) Sometimes it’s total, sometimes partial, sometimes it lasts a bit, sometimes it lasts a bit, sometimes it lasts longer. (04:45) But it can give us the feeling we like, oh, I’m not my ego. And of course, that’s an important (04:51) realization, right? It’s very important, you know, you should remember it. You should remember that I am not my ego. Um, of course, when we try to come back to deal with people, um, um, um, (05:06) work and relationships, um, um. We need some kind of structure that helps us interact with humans. It helps us (05:24), you know, uh, it’s not just out of place like some sort of blank zombie.

And ego is really useful and important in some warnings (05:33). One, as I mentioned, it must be surprisingly clear, um, (05:42) Over and over again, surprisingly clear, I am not my ego. It’s not just intellectually, it’s what you’ve experienced in your bones (05:49). Otherwise, you can really panic about it because what you happen is, you know, or see more forever, or uh, when you know that we will experience it as death (05:57) (05:57) as we are approaching death, we can really panic about it (06:11) as ego and ego are disbanded. But with experience, it is probably one of them either fully dissolved, partially dissolved, or simply seen as construction (06:25) (06:25). And it happens again and again. You realize that nothing happened. I didn’t die. It did not disappear (06:33). I didn’t leave. Recognition, experience, buddha nature, source, whatever we want to call it, still completely (06:41) there, in fact, we had a better time than usual than when we were trapped in identification, when we were very tight straight jackets, very narrow, constricted, uncomfortable (06:47). In fact, we see why we think it’s a bad thing (06:59) It’s all the pain is trying to take this.

And we see it, and we (07:24) want to see it deeply and clearly and repeatedly until this ego is no longer identified, right? (07:35) I will never identify it again. But you know, you don’t really identify the function of your liver. You (07:42) Don’t identify your heart function as a pump, you know, but it’s still important. It’s still doing its job (07:50). We want it to do the job, and you just don’t want it, you know, (07:56) I don’t need cardiac function anymore. You don’t need the liver anymore. Well, yeah, you do. And (08:02) Similarly, unless you’re just going to sit in the cave, it’s fine, some of the people who are their lot, it’s them (08:08). But for most of us, it’s not our deal. (08:13) We were not born into society to do that. We’re out there. We are going to do things with people (08:17). We know, we’re going to make things, we’re going to do things, um, we have a family, (08:25) um, we have a career, and maybe a lot of interaction with many careers. To do this, it is not only necessary to have cardiac function (08:31) and liver function, but it is also fine for ego function to progress. it’s necessary. That’s beautiful.

Well, again two things (08:41) we, at least not in a permanent way, we, us, we, we, we, we, we, we will not identify it. We can temporarily live in it (08:48), but it is not us. And when it is, when it is, uh, as you know, continually giving rise to the appearance of the empty, which is this effective and exquisite representation of the source (08:56), we can really use relative and dualistic (09:06) language, we can improve it. We can have a much better ego with less shitty edges and more. (09:13) If we’re not in the grip of this death, then this is me (09:19) AM and this is who I am, this is me, this is actually what I can start (09:23), we are loose, loose, like me, I am more open, we can work in the world, like rap, we make it loose, so we can work in the world (09:23) by working out my, um, um, um, cardiovascular stuff, or (09:40) by doing things like Pranayama and so on. Similarly, I can improve ego function, um, (09:48) in many ways that I am no longer intimidated because I am not my identity. That’s exactly what we mean (09:54) because we are social (10:03) beings.

Therefore, the ego does not need to disappear. That’s not (10:10) unless you’re always alone, I don’t think I’m thinking about it. That’s the moment you speak the moment you start (10:26), the moment you start interacting, the personality elements are co-created, uh, you know, it’s the social structure, social co-construction, (10:35), right? So it will always be there. We don’t want to believe it is us. This is the important (10:39) point. This is something like what I call first level awakening. Don’t believe that’s you. Well, and have deep, (10:46) clear and absolutely basic experience that is sure that ego is what happens within you. The ego is beautiful, (10:57) is a brocade of sparkling, sparkling beings of the creativity of the source. It’s there, but it’s not my (11:07) identity. It’s something we want to reach, notice, and recognize what you know.

That’s what I want to say today. Um, please let me know if you have any questions about it. (11:24) Put your question in the comments and uh, if any of them are interesting, or if there’s something I say about them, I’ll make another video. Understood. So, um, thank you for listening to my rant today on this topic. (11:36) And I hope to hear from you. So I have something great. (11:42)
