Exclusive: Courtney Taylor Speculations for "Ballad" Gram, Skincare, Season 2

Viewers have recognized Courtney Taylor as a sequoia from Erica at Abbott Elementary School, and are now in the breakout role as Zamira Parker, the two leads on the opposite side of Ballard’s Maggie Q. The highly popular Bosch spin-off is now number one on Amazon Prime Video, with Taylor’s keen comedy instincts and screen presence drawing her attention as something to watch. In addition to running through her nightly routine to “escape from heavy topics,” Taylor recently sat down with us to talk about hair care, her favorite skincare stop in Los Angeles, and where her head is as she waits for the words of Season 2.

I’m sure many people say they’re watching ballads, so what do you think now?

“I’m literally on Cloud Nine. I think the goal is to do a really good job for everyone and everyone in this industry. I think we’re always very passionate about it, but we do our job, we put it out, people actually enjoy it and praise the individual cast members. It’s a dream.

That’s very true. The show clearly revolves around some heavy topics, and your scene seems particularly burdensome. How was it to film?

“We were dealing with heavy topics… and I think the cast did a very good job of picking the people they chose. It’s hard to explain, but whenever there was downtime, it was easy to get to know each other and find the beautiful moments behind the scenes. Victoria, Michael – they wanted to have lunch with me.

It will be displayed on the final product. When you do something like this, does it take a little while for you to get out of the character and return to real life at the end of the night?

“It took me a bit of time to get out of those moments, especially when the episode was focused on my arc. I’ve never done that in particular. I can understand who Parker is and understand that she’s going there and she’s going there and helping the character.

It was hard to get through, but I was lucky to have someone who cared for me on the set. The cast and crew gave me my time in the trailer when I needed it. They gave me my space when I needed it. I was very fortunate to do something like this – it was a very caring cast and crew and I would praise many of it for success. ”

good. That’s all you need for work, right?

“Yes, 100%. I think it makes the job better. People taking care of you make the job even better.”

I follow your Instagram. You really seem to enjoy sitting at the event, premiere, glam. Do you enjoy the media and preparations?

“If I could do that every day, I would. I didn’t realize how much I was in the house and had someone come and put on my hair and makeup!

But I have to say: It is very important to have good and attractive people who understand my hair and understand my skin tone. They take care of me. I’ve worked with them before. Whenever I have a project, it’s great to see them again. Put them in this ability we basically work on other weekends etc., or it feels really good. I’m lucky! ”

You have to do all the press, so obviously part of your job is to do sets and make-up, do you have a brand you really like: a product you think will really work out?

“When I was in the ballad set, we used the brand heavily with my own hair, my LOC. It’s a woman called Lisa who created her own product. The product is called my curl product. They’re very good. She did a lot of my rock style.

All of her products are very good. And they’re light too! She used Mouse to retire my hair and her conditioner is fantastic. All the products she put in my hair made my locks feel strong. It helped my hair grow! I get nervous about my LOC so I was able to feel really comfortable on set… Many people really don’t know how to manage LOC. When they saw them they said, “No! Can you have a protective style?” I was so happy to have Lisa on set with me as she took full care of my hair. So, that’s what I usually do for my hair products, conditioner on vacation and mousse she gave me.

Skincare stuff…it’s very interesting. I’m going to this shop that I haven’t gotten lost. If you go downtown LA, you will find this place in Fancy Alley, which is called Indira Imports. They also have an online site. You’ll get the cleanser from there. From there you get shea butter. You will get nutrient oils from there. It will be my ultimate reliance on.

Ah, I’m going to look into it.

“Yeah, my goodness.

We don’t want to see it! Same note: The show is still streaming and incredibly popular… People are watching it. What do you know about a potential second season? Also, what else is there in the pipeline?

“As of now, as I write, I’m working on the projects I’m working on. I’m making sure I’m busy with the creative process. There’s an animation show where I’m waiting for it to come out. Answer.”
