Four Sacred Gifts with Dr. Anita Sanchez - ep. 11 - A drug of suffering with Yoruba elder, Iya Tahirah Abubakr

Yoruba Elder Aiya Tahira Abubakr offers deep medicines of suffering and wisdom about how personal and ancestral pain can be transformed into beautiful expressions of creation.

This time, Anita and Iya discuss with four sacred gifts. IYA grows up as a co-cropper’s daughter and goes beyond the beauty of the life of rural Mississippi villages, growing ways to chop off the breeding of land, nature and communities, and to cut off the way to eliminate imagination from imagination with today’s children. Her understanding of the wisdom of our ancestors redefine our suffering as a sacred teacher, and processing of spiritual growth and resilience, redefine our gateway to trauma and emotional pain, we remember that we are not trapped in the wounds of past truth. We will become a caring, unified world community that asks why our souls have chosen to reincarnate now, and discover the important importance of starting young people into Indigenous wisdom and keeping a new vision for the next generation about Iya Tahirah Abubakr.

Iya Tahirah Abubakr is a black American with Yoruba ancestry born in Pocahontas, Mississippi. Iya was started by Ifa Priestess Yamaya in the ancestral tradition of the Yoruba people of West Africa and was studied and trained in several Malidomas in shamanism. She is a drug, fortune teller, and shamanic practitioner, and provides initiation guidance and training for those seeking greater wisdom in mystery. Iya’s purpose and devotion in life is to serve the whole of humanity and leave the earth in a place larger than her.

There is a wealth of wealth in the fact that I grew up as a Sharcropper’s daughter. I understand that it is deep love and protection. If I hadn’t had it, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Because it is the way we lived in life beyond suffering. So I want to bring the people of Africa back and understand the proximity to land and life, regardless of what we are going through. Land, nature, that’s your friend, mother, what it carries you. ” – Iya Tahirah Abubakr
