Haruharu Dark Spot Go Away Serum Review

Haruharu Dark Spot Go Away Serum Review

Hey everyone!

I hope everything is good! Spring is in the UK air and I’m very happy to see bright days return

Now that I’ve run out of Haru Haru’s Dark Spot Serum, it’s time to take a full review and some photos of progress!

Centella 4% Txa Dark Spot Go Away Serum has five key ingredients that we promise to work together to fade dark spots and pigmentation, soothe your skin and stay hydrated. These are VIT C, niacinamide, tranexamic acid (4%), squalene, and centella complexes

experience

I started using this product on February 1st along with other Halhal products for my 30-day skincare challenge. Check out my full post here.

I used this once a day for 3 weeks and then doubled it a day, half of last week. I completed this product on March 6th and lasted for 4 weeks and 5 days. If I had used a 2ish pump it would probably last a little longer, but it’s a bit heavy on my product so most serums use three pumps.

The texture is like a gel. It is very lightweight and calms down on the skin. It feels good and layers very well with other serum. I have not experienced any stimulation or pilling with this. There is no strong scent either. I don’t think it smells like any other Hal Hal Wonder products.

What do you think about this serum? Is it effective? Well, I’m 50-50 about this

I was using a NioD reapplied serum that was working very well in January, but stopped using it on 28Jan and “normalize” my skin before starting Haru Haru serum. Dark Spot Serum was launched on February 1st. Like all new active/treatment serums, use 2-3 times in week 1 to minimize irritation. I used this serum to treat two dark spots on my chin that resulted from picking, but now I’m doing lasers so my hair hasn’t returned. I used serum all over my face, and those two were my target spots to measure efficacy.

Anyway, I noticed by February 4th – after I stopped using NioD serum, my pigmentation returned. Something I didn’t think I was honest. It took at least two weeks to see the noticeable difference from Halhal serum. By 18feb, the intensity of dark spots has decreased! I was really pleased with it, but I don’t think it has decreased any further after this. Looking at the photos from February 21st and March 6th, there’s no further reductions, especially in the large dark spot on the right, but this could be due to the laser session on the 21st. (Photos were taken before the laser session). It makes sense that lasers weren’t really reduced from the 21st to the 6th, as they can cause pigmentation.

Also, on the 21st, I responded to the laser! I’ve completely forgotten, I’m playing with my face late that night and doing this will give me a breakout! Bad this time, it left some dark spots on my cheek. It’s like I’ve taken a few steps back. Sigh!

So why am I 50/50 in serum?

I think I hit the plateau since the 18th, as I still haven’t seen any significant reductions in dark spots. Even in the mini breakouts, I had serum so I couldn’t fade those marks and feel that they are primarily superficial.

verdict

Hyperpigmentation is very difficult to treat and tends to get it for me, so it makes my serum even more difficult! I really like this serum on paper – it has a blend of three ingredients known to fight dark spots and other ingredients to soothe and hydrate the skin. I really love serum textures, gel-like textures are very soothing to the skin and I love layering other products very well. I used it with retinol and acid without any problems

I started to see results two weeks later, but once I got there it feels like there wasn’t any further progress. Perhaps I was expecting too much from the serum, as I know the dark spots in that area are deep and therefore difficult to treat?

Would you recommend Dark Spot Serum? Yes, no – deep, I find it difficult to treat hyperpigmentation. If you have more powerful treatments and chemical ablation (my first one can eat my first after completing the laser!) and you are prone to pigmentation, and if you are leaving the laser, you may think this cannot maintain it in the bay.

In the case of superficial pigmentation, or if you are a person who does not actually suffer from pigmentation, this serum is suitable for you. It has an active blend to combat pigmentation, adding ingredients that soothe and hydrate the skin.

I hope you also mentioned the concentrations of VIT C and niacinamide along with TXA.

I’m really happy I tried this product and was talented for it – it was on my StyleVana Wish list! Of course, SPF cannot be negotiated when treating hyperpigmentation!

This serum is available from SuperDrug or StyleVana if you are interested!

I’ll catch you later
