I will share details about how I overcame my autoimmune disease, brought my body back into balance, and am now symptom-free. Download your free ebook here.
Hello friends! how are you? I hope you’re having a great morning so far. I have a busy day on the phone with clients, but I look forward to adventures with my family. We are going to Disney for a long weekend to celebrate Liv’s birthday. I’ll share my adventures on my IG stories! My kids are asking for events and trips instead of birthday parties and I’m into it. It’s much less stressful and more fun.
I’m not usually good at celebrating personal things – for example, I don’t tell anyone it’s my birthday (lol) – but this month I’m celebrating two milestones, and these We embrace every part of the big milestone.
– Asymptomatic for 1 year;
– 1 year with negative lupus markers
How I Overcame an Autoimmune Disease
my main symptoms
A little less than two years ago, something strange happened to my health. I felt “okay”, still had occasional anxiety and was tired at times, but I started dealing with mysterious rashes, histamine issues, joint pain, and extreme fatigue. I couldn’t recover from my workouts and felt like I had to sleep all day, especially if I did something strenuous. My eyes were also very sad. I’ve written quite a few blog posts about eye stories and ended up with blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction, and dry eye.
The last time I had eye redness was a little over a year ago. We watched The Nutcracker as a family and it was one of our favorite traditions. And during the show, I felt my eyes light up. All of a sudden, it was burning, itchy, and neon red. As soon as that was over, we ran to Walgreens for Claritin. At that point, I knew it was part of a histamine reaction, but I took my contacts out so I could wear my glasses. My symptoms were much better, but I was still experiencing eye redness on a regular basis.
That was my last one.
My autoimmune story and lupus markers
Two summers ago, my PCP helped me with blood tests and everything came back “normal” except for two lupus markers. If one is positive, it may be lupus, but if two are positive, it is very likely lupus. Although I was disappointed with the result, it made sense to me.
She referred me to a rheumatologist, but since my symptoms were manageable and I had been living with them for about a year at that point, I wanted to see if I could actually treat them myself. Ta.
I had received several potential diagnoses from my PCP and dry eye specialist, but no one could tell me why this was happening. I knew my body needed help and that something was causing the inflammation, so I was determined to figure it out. I was a newly certified IHP Level 2 so I put my new skills to use. The goal was to discover my flaws and toxicity and restore balance to everything.
How I Overcame an Autoimmune Disease
I have made huge changes in my life. Performing functional tests on myself, changing my diet, and focusing on my nervous system made all the difference. Over time, my autoimmune and histamine issues disappeared, my eyes stopped bothering me, and my energy and focus returned.
By December of last year, I was feeling much better and my lupus markers were negative. Last week, both markers came back negative on my annual blood test. This is a huge relief and proof that I have made progress. TBH I had been feeling great for the past year, so I was nervous until the results came out, but I was so relieved.
(Here you can see that ANA was positive in July and negative in December.)
Then last week, I took another test and it was negative again.
dsDNA was also negative twice in a row. Wow! !
It’s too long for a blog post, so I’d like to share some of the things I implemented and learned along the way. I’ve downloaded the 7 things that helped me for free. Here is the link to get your copy. Just add your email address and everything will be sent automatically.
Please note that this is not medical advice. I’m just sharing my experience and hope this can provide some ideas and support if you’re in the same situation. You can also share your hopes, as your current situation may not be permanent. A cure is possible, but it may be difficult to confirm at this time. <3
