Glaming R Fresco Salad and healthy grilled BBQ begs are great for lunch or dinner, but how about starting your day with a nourishing smoothie? Eating seasons not only supports overall health, but also gives you a shining complexion thanks to the rich nutrients found in summer produce. My book is rich in seasonal fruits and vegetables that are beneficial for your skin and overall health.

Materials and their advantages

Avocado: Featuring monosaturated fatty acids, avocados help moisten and protect the skin from UV damage, making it supple and secure. Its antioxidants also shield cells from damage, reduce inflammation and make them a true skin superfood.

Bananas: Rich in potassium, vitamins C, B6 and A, bananas support skin elasticity, hydration and repair. Their high fiber content can help wash away toxins and improve the skin.

Cucumber: With a 95% moisture content, cucumbers are hydrating heroes. Packed with antioxidants and silica. Silica is a mineral that supports collagen production and helps keep your skin strong and young.

Spinach: Vitamin C in spinach helps support the production of collagen, and proteins are used to produce new skin tissue.

Strawberries: Strawberries are rich in vitamin C, fiber and folic acid, aiding cell regeneration, preventing collagen collapse, and making the skin fresh and plump.

Balanced smoothie elements

A great smoothie is not just about taste, it’s about balance. A nourishing, skin-friendly blend has some key elements of a healthy smoothie. It combines at least three different seasonal fruits with a spectrum of vitamins and antioxidants, adding healthy fats like avocados and spoonfuls of nut butter to add creaminess, helping your body absorb fat-soluble vitamins. For the liquid base, use plant milk or coconut water to enhance hydration and flavor (unsweetened almond milk is great). Fruits such as bananas, figs and strawberries not only add sweetness, but also increase fiber and help with digestion and detoxification. Finally, we recommend that you consider adding a scoop of protein powder to help with skin repairs and refueling for the day.

To enhance the health benefits of summer smoothies, consider adding collagen powder, spirulina, maca powder, chia, flax seeds, or vitamin C powder to further increase your intake. Are you ready to recharge your day? This is my skin-friendly summer smoothie recipe and give it a try this season.
