Jamie Chung talks about her toughest time of the day and shares her "quick shower" skincare

Mother’s Day is around the corner and no one wants a “quick pause” than Jamie Chung. As Olay’s spokesman, the actress and mom say it’s not always easy to spend time, but that’s definitely something she’s on her schedule.

I’m sure you’re asked to partner with the brand many times. Why Olay?

Olay is such an iconic brand. That’s what I grew up with. My mom used Olay Complete lotion when I was younger, so I always associated it with trust and quality. I love that Olay has access to great skincare for everyone. This is something I deeply cherish. I also like the campaign being tied up on Mother’s Day. Because it’s important for busy moms to remind them that it’s not one day to take care of them.

You need to take care of yourself every day, as you can’t give 100% to your family unless you feel 100%. Olay’s new Super Serum Body Wash, infused with 5+ skin care ingredients to provide 5 skin benefits, is perfect for me. As a mom, I feel that just a few minutes after taking a shower is what I really need to refresh and kickstart a busy day.

What are your “simple tips” to help you put together?

It starts with a simple shower. I’m using the Olay Super Serum Body Wash. It offers five skincare benefits in one, making your skin feel smooth. As a mom on the go, sometimes I only have five minutes to myself. The Super Serum Body Wash is a game changer to get that bright glow from head to toe, even when stretched thinly. It’s like a bit of a confidence boost to remind me that I’m a super mom!

My beauty routine for a busy day is very simple. A quick swipe of the blush helps me wake up and put it together. That’s really necessary. I usually store extras in my bag so I can retouch them during errands and interviews. It’s like my emergency blush kit!

In the morning it was a go-go, so I usually try to wash my hair the night before to avoid a desperate morning with wet hair. Also, I like to lay out everything I need on the counter the night before, so I don’t need to think about it in the morning.

When you have time for yourself, what do you want to do to relax?

My toughest time of the day is usually between 5 and 6. That’s when I’m cooking dinner, when the kids are eating, and I might only have five minutes to myself. My husband, Brian, can see me overwhelmed. A small rinse can be a really great reset. It gives you time to gather yourself and refresh yourself and come out. That little break helps me finish my day with a high note. I’m irritated and want to feel munched. The shower is a bit of a mental reset, which is very valuable and the Olay Super Serum Body Wash is perfectly useful for that reset.

If you have more than 5 minutes, it usually goes level and takes a breather and runs Duolingo, but it only takes 7 minutes.

What is your favorite beauty grail?

Olay Super Serum Body Wash for extra dry skin is definitely the Holy Grail. It’s gentle and hydrating, especially if your skin has been dry since the winter months. I also love the Dieux Reusable Eye Mask, perfect for tired eyes, and the Ilia Multistick from Lady Bird. It is used for a quick, fresh look on both lips and cheeks. And for my eyes, I always have allergy relief in my hand. Plus, Lumie-shaped eye drops are useful for any redness.

Do you have any facials or derm treatments that I swear?

My skin is pretty sensitive and I have hyperpigmentation so many of the aggressive ones don’t work for me, but Shani Darden has this wonderful triple acid skin. It is stealing all the dead skins of my face. This is important because I’m always in the sun.

What projects are you excited about this spring?

I’m really excited for people to see a movie called Stone Cold Fox. It stars herself, Kristen Ritter, Keenan Shipka and Kiefer Sutherland. This is an indie movie with a shoelaces budget, but we had this passionate team. I think we created something really special. I am very proud of this project. Like Sophie Tabet, no one has done a good revenge flick. I’m very excited to be taking part in her first directorial debut.
