Hello GPODers!
Garden Photo of the Day contributors often share their own gardens or public gardens they have visited. From time to time, we also see private gardens featured on garden tours or gardens designed for clients or friends. The posts that don’t happen often, but always warm my heart the most, are from posters who share the gardens of people they love and respect. Our newest garden cheerleader is Paige Coppie, who shared some beautiful photos of the garden her father (Jeffrey Connors) built in Coventry, CT. Gardening is often a very personal pastime, but it’s amazing to see Paige’s deep love for her father extend to the special space he cultivated.
Hello! He is also an avid gardener, posting photos on behalf of his father, Jeffrey Connors, who doesn’t get enough recognition. In addition to being my best friend, he is an exceptional gardener with a very green thumb. He has a carefully manicured green lawn that we were never allowed to run around in when we were kids lol! He grows giant climbing hydrangeas (Hydrangea anomala subsp. petiolaris, zones 4 to 9), a beautiful annual that he plants every year around the pond he builds in his backyard. He always has hanging petunias and other beautiful flowers. This will be a big surprise for him!!

I grow trees and hostas in the back by an old door with a picnic table and a hanging chandelier. The night is magical.
Hydrangeas are in full bloom in the back.
The beautiful flowers that Ike’s father installed several years ago are in full bloom.
Roses are blooming.
A gazebo and fresh stones are installed.
Beautiful hydrangeas have bloomed.

Thank you so much Paige for sharing your dad’s wonderful garden with us! I hope he enjoys seeing your outdoor oasis on your blog. I also hope to have the opportunity to see more photos of his plantings in the future.
