This Keto Italian brush all recipe is the perfect Italian dish for special occasions holidays! It’s essentially a stuffed flank steak with Sicilian flavour and is easier to make than you think!

Sicilian Beef Brush Alo: My Family Plush Frank Steak Roll (No Eggs!)
There are a few Italian recipes that go beyond the plate. They are memories wrapped in flavour. For me, Blasiola Blasiola Blasiola, that’s exactly what you’re from Southern Italy.
This recipe, a traditional Italian stuffed beeflor, takes me to my Nonna kitchen while the smell of garlic, red wine and rich tomato sauce simmers all day long.
And her version always included eggs with meat in meat, but I’m honestly saying that. I’ve ruled them out this time. why?
Convenience. Life was busy and my dad (who has asked me to make this for years!) was excited with this simplified version that was still packed with all the Sicilian flavours we know and love.

What is Beef Brush Alo?
Also known as bee roll up or flank steak roll, brushall is a thin slice of meat rolled around delicious stuffing, usually breaded crumbs, cheese, herbs, and sometimes pine nuts and raisins.
They turned brown to get those delicious brown bits at the bottom of the pan, then slowly simmered low and slowly in marinara sauce or crushed tomatoes until they were fork tenders.
Think of it as a jelly roll in the meat world.

Keto Braciole carbohydrates
Our Italian stuffed beef rolls have only 6 grams of net carbs and 7 grams of total carbs, but it comes mainly from the low-carb marinara sauce, so if you remove it, you only have 1 gram of carbs.

Materials that make it Sicilian

Make It (inspired by Tiktok and Nonna!)
Recently I have seen all sorts of brushall recipes trending in Tiktok. Without a doubt, this keeps its old school.
Place the steak between two pieces of plastic or parchment paper and use the meat mallet to make ¼ inch pounds.

In a medium bowl, mix the pork rind, cheese, parsley, salt, black pepper, olive oil, and garlic.

Spread the filling over the steak, add the prosciutto and provolone, then roll firmly like a jelly roll and tie it with the butcher string.

Brown on medium high heat until all sides have an attractive brown bit.

Deglaze with white or red wine and rub the bottom of the pot with a wooden spoon.

Add low-carb marinara sauce or crushed tomatoes, cover and simmer over medium heat for about 1.5 hours or throw it in the slow cooker for the day.
Serving and Storage Tips
This is the second course dish in true Italian style that is often served after pasta.
the next day? Even better. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. You thank yourself.
Keto? Serve it on egg white noodles or palmi noodles instead of pasta.
Add Italian sausage to the meat lover’s Sunday sauce that hits all the sounds.

I love the braciole variation
Add shredded mozzarella cheese inside for a brooding center. I use Pecorino cheese and a sharper, saltier bite, but feel free to use Parmesan. Do you want to be creative? Try out Mexican recipes (the version with a spice-inspired recipe) and fold this concept into Spanish or Indian recipes. (Well, it may not be approved, but it’s fun!)
Serve:
Red wine glass. Fresh fresh basil on top. A sprinkle of grated Parmigiano Reggiano served with a little extra low-carb marinara sauce and a completely delightful fresh salad!

What about the sensitivity of red wine and histamine?
Now, let’s talk about what some of you wrote to me: Red wine and histamine reaction.
The red splash is a classic addition to the excellent brush-all recipe and the perfect pairing on the table, but it is worth mentioning that some people experience headaches, flushing, or digestive problems after consuming traditional red wine.
This is often due to the addition of histamine and sulfite. This can be a problem if your body is not breaking efficiently (a condition known as histamine intolerance I have).
But don’t worry – I have you.
If you love wine ideas but not aftereffects, I highly recommend Dry Farm Wine, a company I personally trust.
Their wines are as follows:
Keto-friendly lab test made from organic biodynamic grapes imported from small family farms in Europe due to their low sugar-free purity of histamine and sulfites
So, if you’re trying to stay on a keto diet, or if you’re feeling better after a glass of wine, this is a great option that allows you to enjoy that beautiful pairing without any drawbacks. I’m ordering my dad’s monthly subscription for Father’s Day!
