Morning skin care routine

Here are the latest posts on my morning skincare routines using Olivea Skincare products and the routine steps that will help you build yours!

Taking care of your skin is one of the best gifts you can give to yourself. Over the years I’ve realized that my skincare routine is more than just a product. It is a daily ritual of self-love. In the evenings, you often allow longer routines (think night creams, double cleansing, treatments that work during sleep), but in the mornings it’s a different story. I usually finished the routine in about 2 minutes.

The time may be limited and your kids may be running around, but your morning routine will set the tone of how your skin will face that day, protected against free radicals, exposure to sunlight, and skin damage. Today I am walking my morning skincare routine with Olivada products. Think about this. Think of a guide to creating your morning routine with products that will help you look best for your skin type and goals.

What is your morning skincare routine?

Many people skip morning skincare, but don’t! Your morning skincare routine is to prepare and protect your skin for the upcoming days. Unlike night routines that focus on repairs and updates, morning skincare is designed to protect your skin from environmental stressors such as UV rays, pollution and excessive oil production. Think of it as a preventive routine.

Good morning routines also help to moisturize the skin, reduce thin lines, and create a smooth base for makeup. The product you choose should suit your skin type, whether you are managing dry, oily or acne skin. It should always end with SPF.

Do you need a morning skincare routine?

Yes, you will definitely do it! Here’s why:

Protects against skin damage

During the day, our skin is exposed to UV rays, contamination, and free radicals. These factors contribute to immature aging, thin lines and uneven skin tones. Morning skin care routines build barriers to these invaders and keep your skin healthy.

Extra oil balance

Even if you remove makeup and double cleansing at night, your skin will produce natural oils while you sleep. If you have oily skin types, it can help you start with a cleanser in the morning. It helps to prevent pores and excess oil clogging throughout the day. If you use a dryer, you can wash it with water.

Hydrate dry skin

Skin tends to lose moisture overnight. Moisturizing skincare products with ingredients such as hyaluronic acid in your morning routine can help replenish skin barriers and combat dryness.

Prepare skin for makeup

A well-drawn face means smoother applications and long-lasting makeup. Suitable moisturizers, eye creams, and colored SPF can make all the difference.

When should I take my morning skincare routine?

I’ll say after your first shower or after waking up if you shower at night. In my days at work, I take a shower and do some skincare right before my makeup that day (or if I haven’t left home, I don’t have makeup!). But on the day I go to the gym, I do a mini morning routine (cleansing, moisturizing), apply very minimal makeup, and do the complete routine below after the first shower.

What are the steps in your morning skincare routine?

cleansing

Cleansing removes excess oil, sweat, and impurities that accumulate overnight. For people with extra dry skin, enough splashes are enough, but most skin types benefit from a gentle Step 1 cleanser to prevent clogged pores.

tone

The toner balances the pH of the skin, prepares it for the next step, and adds hydration. This step will help you better absorb serum and moisturizers.

Treatment with serum

Serum targets certain concerns such as thin lines, dry skin, or uneven tones. Contents such as vitamin C, green retinol and hyaluronic acid are amazed in the morning to protect against skin damage.

Moisturizing + protection

Finish with a moisturizer that seals hydration and provides protection. Bonus Points Moisturizer contains SPF, fights free radicals and prevents sunlight-related skin damage. Otherwise, follow the moisturizer using facial sunscreen or tinted SPF as the first step in makeup.

This is what I do for my morning skincare routine!

Step 1: Cleansing and Cleansing Gel with Olivea F38

I have dry skin so I just slam it with water, but if I’m in the shower I use a very smelly cleansing gel. This gentle cleanser removes excess oils and impurities without peeling off your skin. Perfect for people who deal with acne-prone skin and clogged pores. The formula is soothing but effective, and makes the skin look snug and refreshing.

Step 2: Tone with Olivea F67 Correct Facial Tonic

Think of toner as a preparation step. With it, serum and cream can do the best job. It is also a step that makes my skin feel most hydrated. This tonic balances the pH of your skin, reduces redness, and prepares you for the next step. Instead of spritzing directly onto your face, spray it on your hands and tap it on your skin. This method reduces the amount of products and increases absorption.

Step 3: Treat with serum

This is where magic happens! Apply serum before moisturizer to allow it to penetrate deeper into the skin. In the morning I layered a small amount of three Oliveda skincare products.

Olivea F83 HT + Vitamin C Serum – Brightens and evens skin tone and protects against free radicals. Perfect for dullness and thin lines. It’s the thinnest so I’ll start now.

Olivea F06 Cell Active Serum – Promotes cell regeneration and supports overall skin health. I love the scent of this and use this in the morning (it’s also inexpensive) and in the evening I use anti-aging serum F59. Olivea F82 Green Retinol Face Elixir – Mix Elixir with serum to give your skin a strong hydration, repair and protection. This green retinol elixir is a plant-based retinol alternative that fights thin lines and improves texture without irritation. I like the scent of this best, but the F87 Kahai Elixir is also a great choice that can be used in the morning and evening.

Step 4: Moisturize + Protection

Seal all of its goodness with the Olivea F42 Corrective Face Cream. It is lightweight yet nourishing and incorporates SPF effects to protect against UV damage. Follow Olivea F09 Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream. This is necessary for smooth and hydration in delicate under-eye areas. Both products help with thin lines and drying. You only need a small amount of eye cream. To avoid pulling, gently tap it with your ring finger.

Step 5: Colored SPF + Makeup

Finish your routine with a dime colored WonderScreen using SPF. This is a coloured moisturizer that also serves as sunscreen. Perfect for busy mornings where you don’t want to wear heavy makeup but still need coverage. I wear shade #2, which is darker than normal use, but sinks well and leaves a bronze look! From there, I add a bit of concealer, blushing and lip gloss to give it a light, everyday look.

If this looks like a lot of products, skip cleanser, toner, elixir, and eye cream. However, don’t forget to use most of these in your night routine too. To do this, you don’t need a second set of products (but you may want to use night cream or a powerful anti-aging product).
