My electric toothbrush saw it all.
I usually look in the mirror while brushing my teeth and often cry for a while when I stared into my eyes.
Anyway, I did my best to hold it together in front of my son. However, when I met my gaze, the masks often cracked. A deep sob set in my Sonic gentle ham. Life was just overwhelming. Medical issues, impact diagnosis of loved ones, and many other challenges to list.
Then one day, after carrying months of emotional weight in decades, I decided to start looking for a small way to make myself smile again. And the toothbrush became a microphone.
The first was a dramatic cathartic song, like ColdPlay’s Fix You.
Then, something more hopeful, like Hay Jude, is “Jude Judy Judy!”
Ultimately, something completely ridiculous like Bohemian Rhapsody is smacking the head.
And then, all of a sudden, life began to feel a little lighter. I still had problems. I still lacked a solution. But those laughs between the tears became longer and more authentic with each small moment.
That’s what my life sucks: 21 Days of Laughter and Light Series is all about. (Spoiler alert: It’s a payment.
I started writing these emails. Because when life feels like a non-stop barrage of punches from space, it’s very difficult to find a bit of security. We also know that sometimes laughing can make you feel guilty if your loved one is much less smiling.
But little flashes of light really help us get over the darkness, and we have to create them, as they don’t always appear on their own.
These three-week emails outline my path to bringing joy with a little insight and gentle nudge each day.
Additionally, the recommended payment is $19, but you can sign up for just $1. (Or if you love a little Buddha and want to give a little more to balance your $1 sign-up, then more!)
If you’re ready to take a little break from the relentless struggles of life, you can sign up here.
I hope your email will help you!
