Recent: October issue

I look back on my recent life!

^^ I ate delicious whipped banana oatmeal and peanut butter for the first time in a while!

Recent: October issue!

October is full of birthdays, skeletons, soccer, and concerts. As they say, I can’t believe this month is almost over.

Ray Lamontagne + Gregory Alan Isakov

Earlier this month, Thomas and I went to see Ray LaMontagne at the Tin Pavilion. (Check out the reel I made with Ting here!) Gregory Alan Isakov co-headlined the show, and I have to say I thought he was the performance of the night I don’t get it. His voice was so smooth!

benson boone

Mid-month, I went to see Benson Boone with my friends Katie and Sean! The show was in Richmond, so I got tickets on Stubhub and wondered for months if I wanted to go. Ticket prices dropped about 2 days ago, so I’m so glad I took the plunge and went! The show was great and Benson in real life was even more magical than I expected. (You probably know his song “Beautiful Things,” but I’ve been listening to his music all summer!)

shag bark

Before the show, we had dinner at Shagbark. Oysters and fried green tomatoes with crispy salmon and lemon orzo, it was a really delicious dinner!

Another great Old Fashioned!

Katie and I have birthdays two days apart, so we celebrated together!

The show was at Richmond Raceway and we had GA/Pit tickets. We stood the entire time, singing along with the audience at the top of our lungs and cheering every time Benson did a backflip on stage.

Even though he is only 22 years old, I was completely captivated by his voice.

oktoberfest

Back at the Pavilion, Birch and I went to the Halloween celebration downtown.

little mandalorian.

Make downtown more fun!

puzzle scholar

My parents brought me this vintage Pez puzzle from when I was a kid (1992!). It was fun! !

And Birch has done this pirate puzzle at least 100 times this week.

He’s become quite an artist too.

golfer

And this guy has become quite the golfer! I accompanied him to his weekend games and loved watching him play.

I only played 9 holes so it was a lot! Nine holes should be the norm in golf. It will save you a lot of time!

mom and me

Thomas went on a fun friend trip to Charleston where he played as much golf as he wanted. I convinced Birch to take a nap with me, and he did! He’s such a witty guy.

We also surprised the boys with insomniac cookies!

And I made the crockpot chili I had all weekend with cornbread and pumpkin beer!

We also got haircuts and enjoyed a block party with our neighbors and a Pharmacy food truck.

The best “adult quesadilla” is one with mushrooms, beans, bell peppers, kale, and lots of cheese.

Cath eats real food

I also made this chicken stew in the crockpot because my friend Cindy gave me the recipe. You’re a winner!

Have a spooky 10.26 weekend!
