Top Tips for Cooking This Tofu from Team Fit Foodie
You will need one for the sauce and one for the tofu. As much as I love cooking in one bread, I definitely don’t recommend using a hot cast iron frying pan to bake tofu and heat the sauce. Cast iron frying pans are too hot for sauce, so they burn and stick to the pot.
Get some crispy tofu every time. how?
If there is too much water in the pan, the tofu can be a pain to crisp up. Press the tofu before cooking to remove any moisture and dry it with a paper towel before adding to the hot pan. Using a cast iron skillet over a regular non-stick pan will definitely help you achieve a crisp texture.

Necessary equipment
Cast Iron Frying Pan: The key to making tofu completely crispy and golden brown. I also doubled my weight to push the tofu before cooking. Skewers: These are necessary to assemble tofu skewers for cooking. Both metal or wood work. And since these skewers are not cooked on an open flame, there is no need to soak the wooden skewers before assembly.

Great Jones
Cast iron bread
The Great Jones King Shear is our favorite cast iron bread. Adding to your kitchen collection is definitely worth a splurge!
Do you have everything on hand? It’s all good – you still have some simple alternatives you can make to achieve surprisingly flavorful dishes.
For example, if you don’t have sesame oil, peanut or canola oil will work as well. And if you’re not drinking cashew butter, almond butter or peanut butter gives it a creamy texture and nutty flavor. Chili crisps can also be swapped for chili garlic sauce, sriracha, or hot sauce, but they do not have the same crunch factor.

This dish is best enjoyed immediately after cooking, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

These crispy tofu skewers will taste fantastically on a bed of white rice, thanks to the shelled branches. Try sticky rice, cilantro lime lime, or cauliflower rice recipes. You can also serve these tofu skewers on your favorite stir-fry or steamed broccoli side. This cashew crunch edamame salad is also the winner!
Wrap the tofu in a tea or paper towel and place on a flat surface. Place a heavy pot (you want to use cast iron) on top of the tofu and press the tofu for at least 30 minutes.
Mix all the ingredients in the cashew sauce into a large bowl while the tofu is pressed. Please put it aside.
Simply slurp the tofu and slice the tofu into 16-inch cubes. Throw the cubes into sesame oil, avocado oil and salt. Add four cubes of tofu to the four skewers.
Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium/heat and add avocado oil. If the oil is hot, place the tofu in a pan and bake both sides of the tofu, until each cubes are browned on each side for about 1-2 minutes. Remove from the frying pan.
Next, heat another non-cast iron frying pan* over medium heat. Add the skewers to the frying pan and pour cashew sauce over the tofu. Warm the sauce to the desired temperature.
Remove the frying pan from the heat. Skewer the tofu over white rice and serve with extra sauce. Each skewer is served with squeezes of chili casa, coriander, mint, green onion, cashews and lime. Enjoy immediately.
It is not recommended to use a hot cast iron frying pan to bake tofu and heat the sauce. Cast iron frying pans are too hot for sauce.
