Strawberry cottage cheese bagel

These strawberry cottage cheese bagels are very chewy and delicious! Make it easy and easy with an air fryer or oven. Thanks to the blended cottage cheese, it’s packed with 10g of protein per bagel. I hope you love these as much as I do!

I love how social media trends are actually murdered. Like two iconic bagels recreated in the Air Fryer Protein Bagel! I’ve been creating them over and over, but the team has created more variations like these pumpkin bagel bites. But today I’m so excited to share these strawberry bagels! My toddlers love them and I love knowing they are made with simple ingredients packed with protein and delicious strawberry flavor (and booting pink!).

The point of this recipe is something like my OG protein bagel. To make a delicious strawberry bagel with 10g of protein per bagel, you need some ingredients. It will not rise or boil. All you need to do is knead, deep-fried and baking!

It’s a healthy breakfast or snack option: I always want to add a little more protein to my mornings, and these bagels achieve it with 10G protein per bagel.

They are pink! You can appreciate the natural pink colour of these bagels on these freeze-dried strawberries.

Make it in an air fryer or oven: I made these in both an air fryer and oven, and both work well! If you’re making bigger batches, the oven is the way to go.

Step-by-step process for making strawberry-flavored donuts: mixing ingredients, kneading dough, forming donuts, air fries, serving fresh strawberries.

Cottage Cheese: My Protein Powerhouse! This recipe uses cottage cheese blended into bagel dough. It’s creamy and tasty, and is clearly protein-rich. Freeze-dried strawberries: That’s what gives these bagels a gorgeous pink colour! I also added fresh strawberry slices to the cream cheese. Buy sliced lyophilized strawberries and blend in with powder in either a (clean) coffee grinder or a small food processor. Brown Sugar: The only sweetener used in these bagels is brown sugar! They are on the sweeter side (strawberry bagels should be IMO). So, if you want too sweet bagels, feel free to reduce brown sugar.

wonderful! I tested these in the oven and it turned out perfectly. If you want to make a big bagel at once, this is definitely a move.

Oven instructions: Preheat the oven to 400°C and bake for 12 minutes, following steps 2-5 on the recipe card.

Do you have freeze-dried strawberries?

no problem! I tested this recipe with both fresh and frozen strawberries and both worked well. Replace 1 cup of lyophilized strawberries or diced fresh or frozen strawberries.

In hand, half a bagel is topped with pink cream cheese and sliced strawberries, and more strawberries and bagels are added to a plate in the background.

How long does cottage cheese bagel last?

These bagels are best stored in the fridge and usually last up to 2 days. Let it cool completely before transferring to an airtight container and refrigerating. Wait for a quick cut when ready to enjoy.

These are frozen and reheated very well. Let them cool completely. Next, place in an airtight container and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil freeze for up to 3 months.

Preheat the air fryer to 350.

Place the blended cottage cheese, flour, baking powder, sea salt, freeze-dried strawberry powder and brown sugar in a large bowl. Use a silicon or wooden spoon to stir until combined. Use your hands to push together until a dough ball forms.

Transfer the dough to a floured work surface. Knead until smooth. You may need to sprinkle flour on top and bottom.

Divide the ball into four equal pieces. Roll into the ball and lightly flatten. Use a round spoon or finger edge to drill a hole in the center of the flat dough. Stretch the center between air flies so that the whole thing does not close.

Brush the top and bottom of each bagel with egg wash.

Arrange the air fryer baskets with parchment, air fry the bagels for 6 minutes, and air fry for another 6 minutes. You may need to do this in two batches.

Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve with your favorite bagel topping.

Oven instructions: pReheat the oven to 400°C and bake for 12 minutes according to steps 2-5.
I also tested this recipe with fresh and frozen strawberries. Replace the freeze-dried strawberries with 1 cup of diced fresh strawberries. Using less brown sugar can make this recipe sweeter. To make freeze-dried strawberry powder, grind it in a clean coffee grinder or a small food processor. I also tested this recipe using 1 cup Skyr Yogurt instead of the blended cottage cheese and it worked.
