The Fashion Moon is always a whirlwind, but this season I narrowed down to a very special flight trip to Madrid with Alexa Chong for the Carolina Herrera SS26 show. During our visit we created two gorgeous modern looks. Both are perfect for the new season. Here are details about each insider’s story, what inspired them, and of course, all the kits you’ve been seeking.

Look at 1: Floral print and 60s meet the master
Our first look was rooted in the spirit worn by the Carolina Herrera flower floral gown Alexa. Think of a structured line that is vibrant and playful, nods from the silhouette of the 60s and updated with today’s softer edges. Our goal was to guide the vibrant energy of Spanish flowers, combining it with its bold Herrera femininity and the magnetic cool of Alexa. During this trip I was inspired by Madrid’s most famous art. Because of this look we were very inspired by the shades of Goya’s masterpieces. A festive festival of colors, a woman’s pink mouth painted in a romantic painting of the 19th century. Balanced construction and spontaneity of make-up: Softly defined lash lines (using a Carolina Herrera chic eyeliner stick mat) have been blurred at the edges, blurred for a simple, friendly retro feel.
The skin was kept bronze and bright. I love the effect of cleaning bronze blush across my cheeks and nose, reflecting the golden quality of Madrid nights. This sculpted, sparkling base set a scene of a revived 90s lip moment. Taupe and brown liner for gentle contours, orange pops at the edges, and lighter nude centers. The finishing touch was Good Girl Liquid Velvet with satin velvet finish. A small London polish in Spanish sunlight.

Please take a look. 2: Prado Perfection & Artcully Sculpted Skin
On the second exterior, further inspiration emerged from the halls of the Prado Museum itself. The exterior was growing as Alexa wandered between the old Spanish master, Goya’s “parasols” and its charming light and the Las Meninas of Velázquez. We nodded in the 60s, but this time we reflected the appeal of vintage films, where the eyeliner accurately tracked the line of the lashes before getting caught up in the soft, blurry, soft gallery light.
In the case of skin, my starting point was kissed and gently carved by the sun. I layered liquid, orange blush (1042 Carolina Herrera Good Girl Bush, “tanned Petunia”) with hints in my nose for a flash inspired by classic art. The lips play with dimension contours, using toe priners for definition and deeper velvet for the lush painting-like mouth. Like the brushwork we admired at the museum, every detail was blended to make it look fun and alive.
