If we ask modern Americans to list which aspects of self-humanity should develop our energy, we probably will get:
And the old ancient yogi would agree! That’s four out of five koshas!
Yet we often leave desires behind. We have this subtle nasty feeling and there is a gap – a significant piece of work that is missing. Ah…5th Kosha. Ananadamaya Kosha is the energy of a peaceful space. It is a completely present moment in the woods. It is the calm mind of Sabasana. It is harmony of meditation and prayer. It is also an unconditional feeling of mama love. (Happy Mother’s Day!)
But the missing piece is not a quiet moment – we all know the importance of spending time for ourselves. The missing piece is that the silent space we created is not intended to maintain the space! It is intended to be fulfilled!
Ananadamaya Kosha is a peaceful space filled with excitement. It’s the connection we found in the woods. That’s the bloating/sufficient sex we found in Savasana. It is the surrender we found in meditation and prayer. We are taking care of them. We are cherished. We are full.
The lack of work is that we are part of the whole.
Until next time,
Roller
