What to expect from the upcoming Thermomix TM7
With the Thermomix TM6 having been released in 2019, enthusiasts and potential buyers are already setting their sights on the next iteration, the highly anticipated Thermomix TM7. Though Vorwerk, the company behind Thermomix, has not officially released any details about the TM7, there has been a lot of speculation about what features it may include and when it is expected to hit the market.
If you’re considering buying a Thermomix (Bimby), it may be time to consider whether you should wait for a new model and what new features will be a big draw for you.
This post is not sponsored by Thermomix or Vorwerk. As a recipe blogger and cookbook author, I personally own six Thermomixes and a Magimix thermal cooker. I have cooked thousands of recipes with my Thermomix and provide alternative cooking methods for every recipe in my cookbooks, e-books, and on the Mad Creations Hub. My goal is to provide versatility in the kitchen, so whether you use a Thermomix or another appliance, you can create the same delicious food.
I do not sell Thermomix equipment, nor do I receive any sales revenue through Vorwerk, I am simply sharing my opinions and insights independently, without any commercial relationship with Thermomix or Vorwerk.

Thermomix TM7 Possible Functions
Advanced AI and smart cooking assistance
Given the rise of AI technology, the Thermomix TM7 could come with a more advanced smart assistant, integrating voice control or using AI to suggest real-time adjustments based on cooking preferences, allergies, and ingredient availability. AI could also help provide personalized recipe recommendations and shopping lists. While we understand that AI is not everyone’s cup of tea, the potential of the Thermomix TM7 is exciting, especially when we think about how it can improve accessibility. For example, voice control could make a big difference not only in convenience but also in helping people with disabilities. Imagine cooking hands-free or having a device guide you through the steps without you having to touch anything. It would be a game changer for many. It seems like these innovations could make cooking even more inclusive and accessible to everyone. Enhanced cooking sensors
The TM6 already had built-in cooking sensors, but the TM7 takes it a step further. Enhanced sensors improve the accuracy of temperature control, stirring and ingredient dosing for even more reliable cooking. The new sensors are also more energy efficient and can detect changes in the cooking process faster. Expanded recipe database and connectivity
Thermomix’s Cookidoo recipe platform is already impressive, but future models may offer expanded connectivity with other apps and devices. Imagine syncing your grocery list with local grocery stores or automatically planning meals based on your calendar. Plus, integration with smart home systems (Google Home, Amazon Alexa, etc.) could become standard. Bigger Bowls vs. Smaller Bowls
Some users have expressed a desire for a larger mixing bowl. While the current capacity is sufficient for most meals, families and batch cookers may appreciate the increased capacity. The TM7 could offer an expanded bowl to easily cook large quantities of food at once. We would like a wider base bowl to allow for more surface area to better distribute heat. Improved Design We would really like to see beautiful bowl options in a variety of exterior finishes that can withstand heat. Imagine something comparable to the gorgeous design of Dolce & Gabbana x Smeg appliances or the beautiful mixing bowls from KitchenAid that are as stunning as they are functional. Thermomix could truly increase its appeal by offering premium, beautiful options that bring both style and durability to your kitchen. It’s all about matching high-end performance with an equally high-end look. More Power and Speed
While the TM6 already boasts impressive power, the TM7 takes it up a notch with more efficient blending and kneading capabilities, reducing cooking time for an even smoother experience. With a similar blade cover, you can crush and chop in a smaller space. Other cooking modes
Smart Kitchen Appliance The Thermomix TM6 is a smart kitchen appliance with 17 modes, 2 preset tools, and 30 functions (from chopping to steaming to slow cooking). With the TM7, you can introduce new cooking modes to meet even more diverse cooking needs. Imagine expanding the sous vide function (like the Magimix, which doesn’t have a blade rotation option) to more precise settings, or adding an air fryer or drying function. Durable Premium Materials: Upgrading your Thermomix to higher quality, premium materials will improve its lifespan and performance. A more rugged build that resists wear and tear will make for a machine that can withstand heavy use in the kitchen. As a picky kitchen appliance fanatic, I feel that the current model is like a cheap car with a muscle car engine. You get the performance, but the looks don’t match the power and performance. Clearer, Longer-Lasting Branding: By ensuring the branding and markings on the machine don’t fade or wear off during use, it improves the overall aesthetic and usability, and maintains a premium look even after extended use. Color Customization: The introduction of multiple color options allows customers to choose a model that matches their kitchen décor, creating a more personalized and modern feel. Integrated Video Tutorial: The addition of an option for a video tutorial integrated directly into the device can guide users through more complicated recipes, making the cooking process more engaging and understandable. Delayed Start Time: The delayed start time feature allows users to program the machine to start cooking at a specific time. This is ideal for meal planning and making sure your food is ready when you need it without having to wait. Large Varoma for Steamed Dishes: The large Varoma attachment can accommodate larger meals or allow for multi-layered steamed dishes, making it ideal for large families or those who are passionate about meal preparation. Slow Cook Bowl and Pressure Cooking Options: The introduction of a dedicated slow cook bowl as well as an attachment that converts the Thermomix into a pressure cooker increases its versatility, allowing users to easily create a wider range of dishes. Herb Chopping Attachment: The small chopping attachment allows for efficient chopping of herbs and small items without them getting scattered around the large bowl, improving precision and making cleanup easier.
Any guesses on TM7’s features and release date?
Vorwerk’s new product release cycle is typically around four to six years: the TM5 was released in 2014, followed by the TM6 in 2019. Based on this pattern, we expect the TM7 to be unveiled between 2024 and 2026. However, given the rapid advancements in technology, it’s possible that Vorwerk could release the TM7 sooner to keep up with new trends and competition in the smart kitchen appliances market.
I laugh when consultants say there are no new models. Why don’t Mercedes or Porsche come out with great new cars when their previous models were great? It’s the same with the kitchen. Companies need to come out with new toys that we want. The minute the new Thermomix TM7 comes out, my money will be gone in a click. Haha! I already have 7 Thermomix appliances so one more is no big deal.
Why you should buy TM6 now
While the TM7 may promise exciting innovations, there are some compelling reasons to buy a Thermomix TM6 now rather than waiting for the next model.
Current Promotions and Prices
Thermomix frequently offers promotions and bundle sales for the TM6, so now is a great time to invest. If you wait for the new model, you’ll pay a premium price when it launches, but the TM6 is now more affordable than ever. In some areas, trade-in sales make upgrading from an older model cost-effective. Proven reliability and performance
The TM6 has been on the market for several years and has received overwhelmingly positive reviews and feedback. Its features range from slow cooking and fermentation to precision blending and sous vide cooking. You can be confident in the reliability of the TM6, knowing it is a proven product that delivers high performance. Regular software updates
Vorwerk continues to support the TM6 with regular software updates, adding new features and improving its functionality. These updates make the device much more future-proof, so even as the TM7 gets new features, the TM6 will continue to receive improvements and support from Vorwerk for years to come. Expanded Recipe Library
The TM6 seamlessly connects to the Cookidoo platform, which offers thousands of guided recipes. This recipe library is continually updated, so TM6 owners always have access to fresh new recipes without having to upgrade to a new machine. As a recipe developer, I don’t use Guided Cooking, but I can see why so many people would love the feature. There’s no need to wait!
Even though the TM7 is released within the next year or two, there may be delays due to production schedules, supply chain issues, or demand outstripping supply. Waiting for an unannounced product could lead to frustration and months (or more) of uncertainty. In contrast, the TM6 is available now and will provide immediate and lasting benefits in your kitchen. Support for current accessories
The TM6 is compatible with a range of accessories that enhance its functionality. These accessories may not work with future models, making your investment in the TM6 even more valuable. Whether it’s the blade cover and peeler, or the Varoma for the steamer, these accessories will help you get the most out of your TM6.
Conclusion
While it’s fun to imagine what the Thermomix TM7 will bring to the table, the TM6 is a powerful and versatile kitchen appliance that’s worth buying now. With advanced cooking modes, access to the extensive Cookidoo platform, and regular software updates, the TM6 offers a complete solution to meet the needs of the modern home chef.
Rather than waiting for the Thermomix TM7 to launch (which may still be a while), buy a Thermomix TM6 now and enjoy faster, healthier, smarter cooking right away. And who knows? By the time the TM7 finally launches, you might be more experienced and ready to upgrade. Also, don’t forget your local Facebook groups and FB Marketplace – these are great places to grab a Thermomix for cheap.
