Emmy-winning television personality Zuri Hall knows one or two things about getting (and staying) camera-enabled. Access As a co-host of Hollywood and American Ninja Warriors, the hall navigates hundreds of red carpets and press junkets each year. It is a professional terrain that helped to refine the beauty regimen built for endurance and impact. Her curated product weapons are about performance rather than trends, items that withstand set times, unpredictable climates, and thin lenses on camera. But for Hall, beauty goes beyond brushes. As advocate for the voice of mental health awareness, she believes self-care is not just an extravagance, but an important part of her beauty routine, which is carved for herself every day.
What are your favorite makeup and skincare products for on-air?
“One of my favourite foundations is the Ambient Soft Glow Foundation ($58). I highly recommend it. It offers a truly lovely exposed skin-like finish that’s not too matte. It’s always something I want to come across on camera.
I also love milk makeup. One of my favorites right now is the electrolyte Valmaid’s moisturized colored lip balm ($18). It comes in a variety of colors and when it comes to lips on the set, I’m less than anyone unless I have bold red lips. Valmaid’s moisturized lip balm is an electrolyte, and a little more liner goes far for me. ”
Is there something you have used forever to make you love beauty?
“Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Face Powder ($44). It’s old faithful, tested and true. I’ve been using it for years when I need to matte my T-zone, which becomes pretty fast and oily.
Another product I love is Laura Mercier’s translucent loose setting powder ($43). I highly recommend them. The little hack that my makeup artist and I use is to buy them in a variety of colors. We use a light shade under my eyes, then a brown shade in the middle that is slightly darker than my complexion due to subtle contours. Those rare occasions, especially on long red carpet days, lean against the contours and use even darker shades.
Have you ever discovered something you like?
“I really enjoy salt and stone products, from deodorizers to body washes. The scent they have is soft and subtle, adding a touch of luxury to my everyday routine.
Are there any “hacks” to make makeup and hair all day long?
“We love the one size setting spray with Patrick Star ($34) in an aerosol can. You have to hold your breath while spraying from the top to the bottom of your face, but it lasts overnight and overnight.
Are there any nightly wellness moves to let go of the day?
“When I get home, I like to lower the lights inside the house and light a candle, and touch the Zen space wherever I am. I made my skincare routine romantic at the end of the night. With lemons and limes, it makes for a lovely wine glass.
And I love the ritual set of hydration and plump Tacha starters ($74). I generally love this brand. Because they can make it very easy and easy. I don’t really want to do it, so they break it down into a four-stage process. It feels gorgeous and high snack for my skin after a long day of work. I’m tired and it’s a bit of a 15-minute ritual. Then I’ll curl up on the couch with my dog, relaxing at one of my favorite shows (now my go-to is a golden age), reading magazines like Essence and Town & Country, and just blowing the atmosphere off. ”
