Confession: I may love the whole preparation for Christmas even more than Christmas day itself. It’s so much fun and joy that the whole family can participate. There are many holiday decoration ideas and styles that will enhance the festive atmosphere. Every part of your home can be decorated in some way. How great is that?
One area of a home that is often left undecorated is the front porch. Ironically, this is the part that gets the most attention and usage.
For us plant lovers, there is a very simple solution. It’s a winter planter. It’s very easy to make, and you can make it to your liking. And a big bonus too. Each one welcomes guests to your home and instills the Christmas spirit in all passersby.
1. Add something shiny
Speaking of Christmas, gorgeous illuminations and shiny items are a hot topic. Don’t skip these things when making your own porch Christmas planter. See how the silver-painted cones stand out beautifully from the lush needles?
2. Simplicity is key when it comes to winter planters.

You can always go overboard with decorations. But there’s something very special about a simple porch planter like this one. Just a few branches and a cone. Simple but beautiful.
3. Don’t limit yourself

If winter planters aren’t enough, you can always decorate the rest of your porch. It is very important here to keep things together under one theme. Don’t overcombine. My favorite method is to choose your main color first, then one complementary color, and build your entire decor with that in mind.
4. The bigger the better

You can have a thorough discussion about whether size matters. When it comes to decoration, it’s clear that the more, the bigger the better. Look at the wonderful contrast between the size of the window and the size of the planter. This will make your mouth open wide!
5. Decorate your entryway with miniature Christmas trees in planters.

Who said Christmas trees were only for indoor use? Your porch deserves one (maybe two) too.
6. Animals love this winter planter too!

That’s what I said! Everyone loves this simple design. You can make cute little owls using birch branches, seed pods, and magnolia leaves.
7. Play with color to stand out

A simple play of color made this planter really stand out. Red and black go together very well in their natural state. However, you can also choose bolder color combinations.
8. Make It Sweet

Many sweets appear at Christmas, including candy canes. Why not decorate your planters with candy canes? It definitely stands out.
9. Don’t be afraid to mix and match

Often people use just one type of cone or twigs and branches, but why not bring the whole forest to your front porch? See how beautiful different shades of green look together?
10. Is there snow? No worries!

Even if it looks like spring outside, decorating with planters like this can make it feel a little like winter.
11. The more winter planters you have, the more fun it will be.

If one planter is fine, two or three are better. Let’s see how the person actually thought about color. Everything simply fits.
12. Every door needs a Christmas planter!

Planters really make your door look better. This is a majestic entrance just for you. I also love the red berries, which bring a bit of freshness to the deep green branches.
13. Combine planters and Christmas wreaths

If a decorated planter isn’t enough, you can always supplement it with a decorated wreath. It’s definitely one of my favorite designs.
14. Not enough room? No problem!

You don’t have to have a large front porch with a garden to create an elegant winter planter. You can even put this on your apartment balcony!
15. You can also use box planters!

It doesn’t necessarily have to be a big, tall planter. We also recommend using a box planter and placing it near the window! This was really great!
16. Make it your own

If you have other decorations on your front porch, they can also become part of your Christmas planter. See how easy it is to transform your statue into a Christmas theme?
17. Large bowls make Christmas planters look luxurious

Filling such a large planter with nice-looking decorations is no easy task, but they managed to do it. The key is to keep it simple and symmetrical.
18. Brunch doesn’t have to be the star of the show.

Usually branches and other subtle elements predominate in winter planters. But there is no need to limit yourself and add decorations that really stand out.
19. Two are better than one

This front porch is really simple but beautiful. I love the symmetry: two winter planters, two lanterns, two wreaths.
20. Blue also attracts attention!

Don’t you think you should stick to natural colors or traditional combinations with red, green and gold? Blue is also an item that attracts attention. This one combines blue tones with a bit of silver.
