The air fryer is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets and allows me to have a really delicious dinner on the table in under 20 minutes. If you love your air fryer as much as I do, you need to try air fryer roasted zucchini, air fryer roasted tomatoes, or air fryer fried frozen asparagus for your next meal.

I love this recipe for two reasons.

It’s surprisingly easy to make, just add frozen vegetables to the basket, season and cook. It’s very easy. Plus, this recipe uses staples from your freezer and pantry. Crispy green beans are a must-try vegetable! The airfryer works its magic on these green beans. The slightly crunchy green beans are a completely different experience from the steamed green beans I usually eat. Given a choice, I always choose these air-fried green beans.

Materials needed

Frozen green beans – I prefer to use thinner green beans as they will be very crunchy. Trader Joe’s frozen green beans are my favorite. Kidney beans are also usually quite thin. But don’t worry if you can’t find thin frozen green beans. You can use any of them. Avocado oil or olive oil spray – helps coat the beans and bind the salt and garlic powder. Spices: Salt and Garlic Powder – I want to keep it super simple here, but trust me, these will turn out incredible!

How to make crispy frozen green beans in the air fryer

Sprinkle with seasonings. Add the green beans to the air fryer basket. Spray with oil and sprinkle salt and garlic powder on top.

Cook the beans. Cook at 400F for 14 minutes. After 7 minutes, pause the air fryer and shake the basket well. Stop again with 3 minutes left and shake again.

Enjoy hot! It’s best right out of the air fryer!

important tips

I want to mention that this is an inactive recipe, but for the best texture it’s important to pause the cooking and shake the air fryer basket a couple of times during cooking. The beans will have a slightly crunchy texture, but if you prefer green beans that are closer to the texture of steamed green beans, stop cooking at 12 minutes. Be sure to use an avocado oil or olive oil spray that does not contain propellants (the only ingredient should be oil). Propellants are known to damage the coating on airfryer baskets. If you need to preheat your airfryer before using it, reduce the cooking time to 8-10 minutes.
