How’s January so far? Okay, I hope! We’re almost on the finish line!
Today I have a list of some of my favourite products I discovered and used last year. 2024 was my healthy hair year, so I spent my time and effort researching and trying new products.
1. Briogeo should not despair and do not repair deep conditioning masks. When I thought I’d post this, this was the first product that appeared in my head! I love this product so I used it too much and it broke my hair lol. This mask is rich in protein, so how many times do you use it? I love this mask. Because it is entangled, but it helps reduce fallout. If your hair feels just limp and it feels like it’s flowing a lot, don’t despair! Try this mask! My advice is to balance this mask with moisture treatment, so use it once every 2 weeks/month depending on your hair needs. I used my hair right after I got the texture release, so I broke my hair. Because it is amino acid-based, if your hair has too much protein and too much protein, it will become brittle and more likely to break. I still love this product and would recommend it because it’s mine, not because of the product.
2. Asserts Light Cream’s Head Address – When I went to the Elite Hair Lounge in February 2024, I was first introduced to this product. I loved how my hair felt. Fast forward to May, I did a texture release and the stylist recommended using the same product as my kerakare butter cream was too heavy. I got it and fell in love with it. As the name suggests, it’s lightweight and adds moisture to your hair works well. It’s a lovely “hair cream” I used weekly to add some moisture.
3. TginHoney Miracle Conditioner – This product went viral in the natural hair community when it first arrived, but was not available in the UK so I didn’t give it a try. Last year I was looking for a moisture deep conditioner and the girls were still raving about the conditioner so I finally decided to give it a try. This deep conditioner is great and I will write a full review soon
4. Olapex4c Shampoo – Everyone knows how I feel about Olapex by now, and this product? Same goes for this clear shampoo! It cleans your hair, but it doesn’t peel off! I use this every month to clarify and chelate my hair. Works with 4C hair. If you want to read my full reviews of all the Olapex products I’ve used, check it out here
5. African Pride Moisture Miracle Pre-Poo – Another viral product in the natural hair community, and it deserves all the hype! If you’re looking for pre-hydration poop treatment, this is it! I went through these two or three bathtubs! My full review is here
6. Briogeo should not despair, repair! ™ Moisture + Damage Defense Vacation Treatment – This came in a gift set with Do not Despair Deep Conditioner. It really works to soften the hair. Some people just leave their hair “wet” and don’t really soften them. This won’t do that.
These are my top 6 products from last year and I’ll buy back/D all of these again. More product worth mentioning is the Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum, recommended by my stylist. I don’t know how, but this helps to dry my hair faster! And it doesn’t weigh the hair or let it go back. It’s literally a bit needed. If you use it as often as I did when I started using it, you will feel the difference after your hair has dried. Is it a little sticky? (lack of better words). Another product I have to mention is the Cantu Protective Styling Hair Freshener. I call this hair perfume. We all know how Blaze is a bit musty after a while, get this! If you want hair with an amazing smell, grab this one.
It’s everyone! Although we are focusing more on length retention this year, searching for better products/brands is still ongoing. I learned about a lot of brands last year. I’m patiently waiting to complete the batch before I get a new product.
