To perform these bites, four base ingredients are required.

Ingredients for frozen yogurt bitesIngredients for frozen yogurt bites

Greek yogurt – this forms a creamy base of frozen bites and contributes to their high protein content. Plain yogurt with dairy-free coconut yogurt works well. Flavored yogurt allows for a variety of flavor profiles, so if you like stronger vanilla flavors, go to vanilla yogurt. Maple syrup – This sweetens the bite. Sugar-free maple syrup or allulose works for those who are looking to intake sugar. Powdered Peanut Butter – This adds the flavor and protein of peanut butter. Collagen protein powder, vanilla protein powder, natural peanut butter, or sunflower seed butter also works. It’s fine to skip this and add vanilla extract. Blueberries – These add a burst of fruity flavour and texture. Raspberries or finely chopped strawberries are also great. Dark Chocolate Chips – When melted in coconut oil, these create a delicious (but optional) chocolate coating. Coconut Oil – This helps to melt chocolate chips smoothly.

Carine’s tips

Let me share some tips for the perfect bite.

Flavored Yogurt Varieties – Create a variety of yogurt bite flavors using flavored Greek yogurt such as vanilla and strawberry. Nut Snickers Bite – Add a pinch of crushed peanuts on top for a snickers-inspired flavor. Creamy Peanut Butter Options – Replace real peanut butter with real peanut butter for its creamy texture, but be aware that this will increase calories and fat. Nut-Free Alternatives – Use sunflower seed butter or vanilla protein powder as a nut-free alternative to powdered peanut butter. Change the toppings – try toppings like shredded coconut or lyophilized strawberries. Berry Swap – Finely chopped strawberries work well in place of blueberries. Plain Yogurt Bites – Skip berries and nuts for simple, plain yogurt bites. Proper Thaw – Thaw the bite for 10-12 minutes at room temperature before providing a creamy texture. Evenly Distribution – Divide the yogurt mixture evenly into silicon molds to give it a consistent bite size. Melt chocolate with bursts – Melt chocolate with a 30-second microwave burst to prevent burning.
