Inside: Looking for a healthy snack in Aldi? There are a few great options, whether it’s sweet, flavorful and protein-rich.
Whether it’s something sweet and savory, or something you’re looking for something awful, trust me: Aldi has a snack match.
As a registered nutritionist and longtime Aldi shopper, I rounded up my favorite nutritious snacks for you and your kids. Here are some of the best Aldi Snacks I’ve found:
If you crave…sweet
Have you got some sweet teeth? Yes, me too. Here are some sweet but still nutritious options.
Chocolate Max Bar: This is what Aldi has acquired the RX bar, with the same list of barebone ingredients and 12 grams of protein per bar. Coconut Cluster: A gluten-free and simple ingredient list, and add less than a teaspoon of sugar per pure and simple bar: Aldi’s version of Larabar, they get sweetness from the date. Greek Yogurt Smoothie: Made with real berries. Granola Clusters: These also have 3 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein. They are pretty sweet so use them to sprinkle on top of yogurt or add them to your trail mix. Trail Mix: Aldi has these various trail mixes in nuts, dried fruits and chocolate pieces. Freeze-dried fruit: It tastes like candy, but it’s just a fruit! Flavored Greek Yogurt: These 100-calorie cups come with sliced banana or frozen berry snack packs. These individual packs feature cheese, fruit and nuts.
Why buy snacks at Aldi?
I think Aldi is my main grocery store due to the excellent prices, but I also like the simplicity of the store (less options = decision fatigue and fast shopping trips).
Not all snacks have nutritious home runs, but there are some solid picks at affordable prices.
A few notes before diving in:
Some snacks appear in multiple categories. Availability may vary depending on the store and season (so don’t come to me if you can’t find anything!) Obviously, the snacks don’t have to go into the package. We often think of snacks as chips or snack cakes, but anything can be a snack.

If you’re craving… it’s tasty
When it’s crispy, salty, or the flavor is yours, here are some good healthy snacks.
Popcorn: Just popcorn kernel, oil and salt. Egg bites: Find these in the freezer section. Options include cheddar cheese and ham or turkey sausage and spinach. Brown Rice Potato Chips: This is one of my Aldi’s favorites. I call them “fake Doritos” and they are gluten-free. Guacamole Single: Avocados are full of healthy fats. Combine these single serves with Aldi’s multi-grain tortilla tips. Popcorn Chips: Think pop chips, Aldi style. Made from corn grits, oil, sugar and salt. Soft Cheese Wedges: Channeling the laughing cows, there are several types of these spreadable wedges. Woven Wheat Crackers: Aldi’s Trisket Style Whole Grain Crackers. Hummus Single: Hummus on the go. Pair with woven or baby carrots. Nuts: Aldi has a large selection of various types of nuts, including raw, roasted and seasoned.

If you’re craving…Fruits and Vegetables
Of course, all fruits and vegetables are suitable for snacks. But here are some outstanding:
Snap Peas: Rinse and dig these. Applesauce: No added sugar to this. Baby Carrot: Ready to eat – and yes, baby carrots are carrots! Once opened, store them in containers to keep them fresh. Mardarin Oranges: Easy Peel and Handbag-Friendly Dating: Eat these plains and stuff them with a bit of peanut butter or blend in with your homemade snack bite or breakfast shake. Frozen Berries: They taste like sorbet straight from the bag. Fruit Cup: Look for stuffed in 100% fruit juice. Mini peppers: After rinsing, you can chew these. Great for lunch boxes too. Freeze-dried fruit: It tastes like candy, but is made only with real fruits.

If you’re craving… it’s rich in protein
Foods such as heavy-duty eggs, milk, cottage cheese and nuts also supply protein. Here are some packaged, ready to eat options:
Protein Waffle: 6G protein per waffle. It is made from whole wheat flour. Spread them in nut butter or prepare excess protein with Greek yogurt on top. Greek yogurt: 15G protein per serving. Greek yogurt is tense and therefore has more protein than regular yogurt. Egg bites: 15g protein per serving. Find these in the freezer section. String cheese: 6G protein per stick. There are also cheddar or colby jack cheese sticks. Snack Pack: 8G protein per pack. These small packs contain good stuff like cheese cubes, nuts and dried fruits. Almond Butter: 6G protein per 2 table spouts. Aldi comes in both almond butter and peanut butter. MAXX Bar: 12G protein per bar. Made with dates, egg whites, nuts and chocolate. Greek yogurt smoothie: 10g protein per drink. These are made with real blueberries, raspberries and blackberries! Beef jerky: 11g protein per serving. Those simple natural lines are organic and/or GMO free.
