September ends
This month has gone by so quickly! The leaves on the trees in my garden were just starting to turn yellow, and Skelly showed up in my neighborhood. Our neighbor has a great collection of Halloween decorations and Birch has been talking about it for weeks. When we finally walked down he was very scared. I took this because I wasn’t going to turn my back on photography 🙂
September has begun!
But let’s go back to early September because someone turned 12!!!! He requested a sleepover with two friends and we had ice cream sundaes to celebrate.
When I asked them to make a list of things they wanted for their birthday this year, 90% of them were fishing gear!
For his sleepover, we took the boys to Riverside, ate hamburgers and fries, then built a giant fort in the basement and watched a movie.
Rumor has it that he stayed up until 3am!
UVA Soccer
In the middle of the month, we went to a UVA men’s soccer game. Thomas’ dad and Nash met us there.
Raise your hand if you play soccer!
Thomas is taking a break from the joint record this season to focus on golf and watching football. I miss him on the field!
virginia spirits dinner
Thomas and I were invited to a special dinner in honor of Virginia Spirits Month. We went to Broadcross at the Wool Factory and enjoyed a 4 course meal.
Chef Tucker Yoder has once again knocked out the restaurant with super creative dishes. Underneath the salad was a cocoa cookie crumble, flanked by Oreos, which was a great combination with the fresh veggies (sounds weird, but I loved it!).
Lemongrass + Salted Coconut Water + Vitae Spirits Platinum Rum!
The dessert course was amazing!
That pawpaw ice cream was perfect with the combination of finely chopped nectarine and crumble underneath.
(Don’t worry, if I hadn’t finished it yet, I wouldn’t have been able to go out!)
Out on the Town
Meg and I had a girls’ night out. The first one is Bang, the second one is Bebedero!
I’m obsessed with this Chai Old Fashioned at Bang. And coconut rice!

Our team did pretty well. I think I came in 7th place out of about 30 people.
