SupraFade Pigmentation Review

SupraFade Hyperpigmentation Review – Sarah Finn

Hello everyone, how are you all? Today I will be bringing you a full review of the Supradafe anti-pigmentation serum that I used up last month.

Suprafade is the first product from UK-based, Black-owned skincare brand HUE, whose promise is, “A serum with seven active ingredients and antioxidants that work synergistically to target the signs and causes of hyperpigmentation, discolouration and dullness. Designed to be gentle enough for nightly use, our formula works in just two weeks, and we always use active levels of ingredients to ensure maximum effectiveness and results.”

experience

I slowly introduced this into my routine on September 6th. I used it once the first week and twice the second week to ensure there was no irritation when starting a new product. I started using it every night on June 23rd. I ran out of the product on August 20th. I have had no issues with the serum.

Suprafade doesn’t have a noticeable scent and I didn’t find it particularly moisturizing, it doesn’t pill when layered with other serums, and it works well in combination with retinols (I use MEdik8’s r-Retinoate® Intense) and acids.

The serum makes the following claims on its website: In a consumer survey, participants agreed that within six weeks, pigmentation had improved dramatically; after two weeks, 80% agreed that skin tone was more even; after four weeks, there was a noticeable reduction in dark spots; after six weeks, there was a noticeable evenness in complexion.

For me, the experience was completely different. After 4 weeks, I couldn’t tell if my dark spots were fading. In fact, when I finished the bottle, it was still not clear. My skin was in bad shape from June to August, with rough skin texture, dark spots, and new pigmentation. I’m not sure if the serum helped with that. I had two old dark spots that I really wanted the serum to fix, but it just didn’t look much better to me.

Mark 1 was an old pigmentation spot that I had been trying to get rid of and was hoping to get rid of it with Hue. On the 20th day after I finished using the serum, I can barely see a difference. Mark 2 looks a little better but 3 is also hard to tell and I can’t tell if there has been any improvement. The rest of my face is the same, I can barely see a difference.

I love the texture of this serum. It’s very light and pairs well with other products. It’s not the most hydrating serum on the market, but it’s pretty decent. I like that it comes in a pump bottle.

verdict

To be honest, I was disappointed with this serum. I’ve seen a lot of good reviews and improvements from others, but I’m not sure if the serum has worked for me. I had bad skin this summer and developed new age spots that needed to be treated, while the serum wanted to target the old ones. Looking at the side-by-side photos, I can see very little improvement. Does it look like the new age spots have improved a bit? I’m not sure.

Would I repurchase? To be honest, I did consider repurchasing as I thought maybe I needed more time, but after 8 weeks of daily use with no significant improvement I wasn’t willing to spend another £52 including shipping. I won’t be repurchasing.
