But what if there was a tendency to combine each of the best elements to create a bold, bold look? Enter the look of Tiktok’s latest viral make-up: Turkish Delight Makeup. Inspired by the Turkish film and music stars of the 70s, Türkan Coray, its appearance is quietly becoming a Tiktok makeup trend. It’s not difficult to see the reason. Soft, diffused rosy tones, bold eye makeup and charming finish create a luxurious feel while still feeling nostalgic and comfortable. “Turkish joy makeup trends are about the romantic, soft focus appeal with a touch of luxury,” says celebrity makeup artist Christian Briceno. The atmosphere is rich and luxurious, but is clearly defined by certain elements such as a colour palette. From soft pinks to robust Mauves, rosy shades are essential to creating a trendy, signed wash-down look on the cheeks and lips. Warm sparkling colors such as peaches, gold and bronze are also popular as they exude natural luxury. Celebrity makeup artist Erikara Pearl adds that Earth tone is just as important. Whether used to line up the eyes or add shadows, they deepen the appearance and prevent it from looking too delicate. The final touches also play a major role in this makeup trend. High Shine Gloss, Pigmentary Stains and Fluffy Eyelashes add to the dreamy effect and nostalgic feel of Turkish joy make-up.
How to make up for turkish joy
If Soft Glam is one of your go-to makeup look, it’s not difficult to replicate this trend. Like a popular aesthetic, the eyes are the main focus of Turkish joy makeup, with the cheeks, lips and skin playing a supporting role. The eyes must be dramatic with soft, sparkling shadows to capture the light and dark black liners to accentuate them. “The appearance usually consists of defined wings with white or nude liners on the waterline to give it a large doll-like look,” says La’pearl. It is important to note that you do not want the product to be too diffused while there is some degree of dirt. “Use bold black or sharp liners to draw the wings of cat’s eyes and taint the shadows under the eyes for dramatic effects,” says Briceno. Both artists agree that perfect, loose lashes are essential to perfecting the appearance of the eye. The cheeks receive light stains from rose or berry tones, and the lips have a gloss of the same shade. As for skin, Briceno says the finish is fresh but not very shiny. “The hydration primers and a light, lightweight base provide a ‘inner-illuminated’ base that’s perfect for Turkish makeup,” he says.
