Why Meditation is on all To Do Lists

Why Meditation is on all To Do Lists

Hikers know where to look. Keep your eyes apart and look away and travel through the obstacles in front of you. Look at your feet, and your energy fades, as your energy does not have a realistic view of the path you come. Hikers are good at finding sweet spots.

I’m struggling to find a sweet spot!

Over the next few weeks, there will be a backyard graduation party (with guests out of town for several days) to close the school year. I have a huge to-do list and I’m struggling to find my footing.

When they enjoy our alumni, I continue to imagine the happy faces of friends and family. I think about summer and how I relax within my grasp. You can see the finish line! But if you look farther down the road, you should be able to pin your toe into small obstacles, identify and stomp. When a small problem appears, I find myself surprised and annoyed. It’s not a good way to spend your day.

I then overcompensate and turn to the present moment. One step at a time? But then I have no realistic views on future work. I myself am too long and too late, tired the next day, reaching for sugar and coffee, and just going ahead again. It’s also not a good way to spend your day.

According to the philosophy of yoga, the key is balanced awareness. Imagine my finish line goals, but it’s not the point of fantasy and fantasy. I need to be careful in the present moment to keep my feet on the ground. On the other hand, it’s clever to focus on one task at a time, but I don’t want to close myself and stick to this one task. It requires some recognition that this one task is part of the line of tasks along the path. Yes, I have a lot on my to-do list, but this is a fourth grader and I want to enjoy the views. It is important to develop a balanced perception.

And consciousness comes from meditation. My favorite way to utilize meditation is through silent hiking. And what do you think I’m not putting on my to-do list? I may not have the time for long hikes, but I’m adding a “30 minute silent walk” to my to-do list when we talk. I think I just found a sweet spot!

Until next time,
