Today I will share with you a delicious goat kebab recipe. If grilled goat meat sounds too exotic, don’t give up just yet. This might be my new favorite kebab recipe. Serve this delicious kebab with vermicelli rice and plenty of marinated sumac onions.
A while ago, a friend from church needed a meat grinder to grind goat meat that he had obtained by butchering several goats. He posted a request on Facebook and I replied that I had something he could use.
When we met at church, Austin asked if I wanted goat meat in exchange for letting me use the grinder. He explained that most people are not interested in trying goat meat. He continued, “But if you want, I’ll give you some.” I replied, “Are you kidding me? I’m Assyrian! I want goat meat!” 😬
I made several goat recipes using the meat, including this goat kebab recipe and an amazing goat curry. If I can get more goat meat, I would like to try making more goat recipes in the future.

🐐 How to make goat kebab
Mix the ground goat meat with the spices. Add the chopped onion and cayenne pepper. Run the meat through a meat grinder or food processor.
Let the meat marinate in the refrigerator for at least a few hours or overnight. Place the cooled meat on 4 flat kebab skewers.
Pro tip: Submerge your hands in ice water before skewering the meat. This will cool the meat and make it easier to handle.
Grease the grill with oil before you start and grill the goat kebabs until they are done to your liking, turning them every minute to prevent them from sticking to the grill.
