When Taylor Swift first made her mark in the world of music, she was a young country singer with butter blonde corkscrew curls and cowboy boots. A lot has changed since then, but a lot has changed, but mid-2000s Carl appeared in the cameo in Swift’s new music video, “The Fate of Ophelia,” in a very surprising shade.
Swift has experimented with blondes in various shades over the years, starting with the bright, golden shades of her country star, and after a brief but memorable foray into platinum, she evolved into a dark wheat blonde. She wears several different blonde colours in the “Fate of Ophelia” video. Starting with a long, golden wig in half-up style for a romantic Shakespeare vibe, she shifts to Marilyn Monroe mode with a retro platinum bob, but a little past the video, she eats worn before.
In the scene that takes place on the pirate ship, Swift wears a long, Curly copper wig as she cuts through her path across the boat. Both her hair and gown look very similar to Ophelia’s famous paintings made by Sir John Everett Millées. Carl is slightly less defined than the fearless ringlets at Taylor Swift, but he also has the same enormous energy while jumping off the boat.
Elsewhere in the video, Swift revisits her life as a brunette. This has been done in several previous music videos, including “Wildest Dreams” and “You Belling Me.” She tries out the group 60s girl Shag and bob with bangs before going back to her dark blonde roots. Topped with a showgirl head dress.
