Considering Megan Thee Stallion appeared in Fiji last year, we were wondering if she would appear on this season of the hugely popular Love Island, so we can’t say we were all that shocked to see Hot Girl Coach strut around the villa. That being said, I wasn’t expecting to see her wearing a Marie Antoinette-inspired updo in the prettiest shade of cotton candy pink.
Megan appeared on the latest episode of the reality dating series wearing a pastel pink wig designed by hairstylist Kerron Derrick and a lilac lace bikini, and shared the creation of the wig on her Instagram. Megan’s hair was definitely reminiscent of the French queen’s favorite skyscraper look, with loose curls atop her head and a few tendrils framing her face, complemented by dangling pearl earrings and a cute cameo brooch at her throat.
Derrick said he created a base with a hair cage and sprayed it pink to match the pink hair he dyed. I then curled it using a roller set technique, let the curls cool, tangled them around a hair cage to hide the metal, secured the curls with pins, and sprayed them liberally with hairspray to make sure the wig arrived in Fiji camera-ready. Megan’s entire look was modeled after Marie Antoinette and the frilly, ultra-feminine style favored by the Queen and her court, and included pretty pink makeup by Elie Luna with soft roses on the eyes and bright colors on the cheeks, as well as a Versailles-inspired manicure by J-O of Kawaii Nails New York. Is this Fiji or have we actually time-traveled to the French court? And more importantly, do we want pink hair right now?
