Q&A with Kate O'Hara

This month we’re partnering with Kate O’Hara, an illustrator based in Nevada. Kate creates intricate botanical illustrations inspired by the flora and fauna around us.

Speaking about this month’s theme, Kate says, “Adventure for me means always striving for new experiences and growth. Choosing to fight the urge to do what’s comfortable in order to evolve.” I’ll tell you.

Describe your perfect day.

Days when I immerse myself in a project I enjoy, take my dog for a long walk on a sunny day, or ride my bike to a brewery with my boyfriend or friends.

How did you get into the world of design?

I was a very shy and artistic child. Painting helped me get noticed, be accepted, and connect with people. I ended up going to art school and realized that illustration was a possible career path.
