Stress and fatigue are interrelated and often create a vicious cycle.
Chronic stress depletes energy and leads to fatigue. This fatigue, in turn, makes it difficult for the body to cope with stress, exacerbating the effects of stress.
For example, chronic stress can disrupt sleep and cause “sleep disorders.” Lack of sleep weakens the body’s ability to cope with stress, increasing the likelihood of emotional instability, procrastination, and cognitive decline. Fatigue also weakens your immune system, making you more susceptible to illness and further increasing stress.
