6 healthy habits for fall

Enjoy the season with these six healthy habits for fall. From nutritious recipes to outdoor activities, we’ve got ideas to help you stay energized this fall.

Hello, October is my favorite month! With anniversaries and birthdays, October is always full of fun and celebrations in the KERF household.

October marks the beginning of the fourth and final quarter of the year and also the beginning of the holiday season. This time of year, our health habits and intentions are often ignored and put on the back burner, from Halloween candy (or birthday cake for us) to Thanksgiving charcuterie boards, Christmas cookies, and New Year’s. It is famous for being a season where delicious food is delicious. Toast with Eve’s champagne.

Autumn is my favorite season for many reasons.

More than a new year or even more about spring cleaning, fall is a time for me to restart, refuel, and recommit to my healthiest habits.

I’m sure this feeling goes back to the back-to-school feelings I experienced as a child. I like getting back to normal.

And adopting healthy habits for fall will help you feel energized for the long, dark months ahead. I think it’s an ideal time to develop healthy habits that will keep you energized and energized throughout the season. As you transition from the lazy days of summer to the busy routine of fall, incorporating these six healthy habits into your lifestyle will help you make the most of this beautiful season.

Here are six ways I reinvigorate your fall habits.

Set your morning alarm.

During the summer I tend to spend more time there. The pace of life has slowed down, school is out, and we have more time off to reset our body clocks. However, due to school buses and drop-off times for gathering in the fall, we have to create a tighter schedule.

Both boys have to wake up by 7 o’clock. Mornings are very busy to get us to school on time.

I try to organize my feelings before my boys wake up, so I make a schedule. I go to bed early at 9:30am (usually reading) and set my alarm at 6:26am. I used to spend time doing my morning routine. I get on the computer, get ready for the day with my skincare routine, and grab a coffee along the way, but this year Birch is at KG, so I put on a robe and help him get out the door with Thomas. , and then doing my morning routine after he’s gone.

I enjoy Happy Hour at NA.

In recent years, I’ve focused on keeping alcohol to weekends and special occasions. Luckily, I’ve found lots of really great NA (non-alcoholic) drinks that are just as fun (I’ve written a whole blog post about the best NA beers and wines). I’ve been following this routine well over the summer, but it served as a reminder that pumpkin beer and red wine don’t necessarily lead to better sleep. Trail Magic is a great alternative to alcohol that feels a little more fun than water.

I plan on keeping my alcohol intake to weekend nights and weekday special events (if that’s the case!). Happy hour = happy body.

Change your skin care routine to match the dryness of the air.

Adjustments are necessary when the cold season turns into the hot and humid season of summer. And the same is true as we enter the cooler seasons of fall and winter, where we need to adjust for colder, drier weather. If you’re like me and need a little change in your beauty routine as the seasons start to change, here are some tips for changing your skin this fall.

What will happen to my skin and makeup?

What to add:

Light plant-based autumn candles

If you love pumpkin spice candles, consider which brand you buy before you light them. Many candles contain artificial fragrances, which can cause headaches. Grow Fragrance candles are plant-based and have a transparent ingredient list, so you know what you’re burning or spraying is non-toxic.

These are also made as aluminum inserts and can be recycled and new ones placed in ceramic holders. A perfect hostess gift for the upcoming holiday season.

Bring back your days of preparation.

Most of my summers are spent eating out and eating at the pool. Back to school means fall sports and school schedules, which makes us all more mindful of what we eat. We love using meal kits for dinner, but breakfast, lunch, and snacks can all use some TLC. I plan on making some over the weekend – think granola, energy bars, muffins, baked oatmeal, etc.

Preparing lunch boxes is always a challenge. When it gets cold, I want to eat roasted vegetables, so I want to make lots of vegetables (and sweet potato fries for the boys). Having roasted vegetables on hand will help you quickly assemble lunches or easy-to-cook dinners.

Breathe in fresh, refreshing air for 30 minutes every day.

Ironically, in the summer it’s very hot and humid, so I don’t walk much. You don’t want to arrive with smelly, wet clothes. At this perfect time of year, with 70-degree days and sunshine shining through the trees, there’s really no reason not to spend more time outside, walking instead of driving, playing in the garden, and more. there is no. And since winter is just around the corner, make sure to enjoy it before it’s over.

I walk to the Birch bus stop (not that close), but I love taking evening walks while the day is still bright.

Additional Habit: Wear “real” clothes!

Now that I have a new, beautifully organized closet, I want to wear “real clothes” at least a few times a week. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t feel guilty about wearing athleisure most days, but I always feel so good when I put on a cute sweater and do my makeup.

Here’s a wishlist of some items I’d like to add to my wardrobe: These leather boots // This jeans // This dress // This pajama set
