I’ve been using the Beast Mega 1200 Plus for a while and it has completely changed my morning smoothie routine. Here’s my honest review – what I like, what you should know before you buy, and why I think it’s worth it. Disclosure: Beast sent me this blender to review.
This spring I accidentally banged my glass blender on the countertop and it chipped with the sharp glass edge sticking out, but it wasn’t safe. I had gotten that blender as a hand-me-down when I moved, and I was looking for a replacement. That same week, Beast contacted me and asked if I was interested in trying out their blender. Having never used a “single serve” style blender before, I wasn’t sure if it had the power I needed, but of course I decided to give it a try.

Beast Blender: What’s in the box?
The Mega 1200 Plus ($219) is a set of three blending vessels. A super large 1200mL for family smoothies, a versatile 1000mL for single smoothies, and a 500mL for smaller blends and sauces.
It also comes with a storage lid, a drinking lid with a carrying cap, a straw cap with a straw, and a cleaning brush. The base has a power output of 1200 watts, a footprint of 4.9 inches x 4.9 inches, and a height of 17 inches with the large container attached. The total weight is 6.9 pounds, making it the lightest blender I’ve ever owned.
The reason I love it
Three container sizes to fit everything
The three container sizes are what made me love it and continue to be my favorite thing about this blender. I use the large one for family smoothies, the medium one for my personal morning blends, and the small one for sauces and dressings. Switch the blades at the top of each container with a screw. Then flip it over and screw it onto the base to blend.
I’ve never been a fan of putting garlicky or savory things in a regular blender. Having a small container specifically for sauces and dressings was a game changer, as everything ended up tasting vaguely like pesto the following week.
I keep all the parts in a basket in the lower cabinet next to the base.
Dishwasher safe – blade included
The next best thing is that the blender is dishwasher safe as the parts can be taken apart and the material is durable. Everything is included, including the container, lid, and blade, and only the bottom needs to be washed by hand in case of water droplets. Hand-washing your blender doesn’t take hours, but it’s one of those daily time-saving tasks that just makes your life so much easier.
Note: The company says top rack only, but the large containers are too high for the top rack, so I placed them on the bottom and had no problems. Be careful if you have an old/hot dishwasher.
One button, perfect results every time
I’m really satisfied because I can operate it with just one button. When you press the button, the blender runs in a constant cycle, ensuring consistent and smooth results. There’s no guessing when it’s done, no stopping to check, and no lumps left at the bottom. It also handles frozen fruit and spinach perfectly, which was honestly my biggest concern before purchasing. glass doesn’t break
The containers are made from extra-thick BPA-free plastic, so everything is lightweight and nothing can break. In fact, that was the whole reason I got this blender. My last blender was chipped and the glass edge was sharp. (I’m notorious for breaking glassware in the kitchen, like coffee carafes, French presses, blenders, etc.) Also, if you lose a lid or break something along the way, it’s easy to order replacement parts because everything comes apart piece by piece.
straw lid and its color
The straw lid is a great bonus that I didn’t think I’d use as often as I do, and it’s perfect for drinking smoothies in the car. And visually, this blender is really beautiful. Available in seven colors (sage, sand, charcoal, cloud white, carbon black, navy, and mocha), it looks better on the counter than something you’d like to hide in a cabinet. However, it is very light, so you can put it in without worrying. I don’t have to worry about putting it in and taking it out.
How to use
It couldn’t be simpler. Here’s the whole routine:
1. Add ingredients
Pour the liquid first (milk, almond milk, whatever you’re using), then add everything else on top. It can be anything from frozen fruit, spinach, protein powder, etc. Liquid first is the key to a smooth blend every time.
2. Screw in the blade
Attach the blade to the top of the container (in the future to the bottom) and twist until it is firmly fixed.
3. Flip it over and attach it to the base
Turn the container upside down and lock it onto the motor base.
4. Press the button and wait
Press once. The blender will run a certain cycle (about 1 minute) and then stop automatically. Because it stops and starts, it takes time for the ingredients to settle.
5. Remove the blade and attach the lid
Just remove the blade, replace the lid and straw, and you’re ready to go. The blades can be easily cleaned or placed in the top rack of the dishwasher.
6. A bite!
You can drink it directly from the container. No extra cups or plates needed. That’s my favorite part.
One thing to know: User error
Once I had a problem blending, I added too much. All the fruit was just sitting there. It’s completely user error, but easily resolved. Add the liquid first, then stack the other things on top. My smoothie tips post details how to get the perfect blend every time.
My only complaint is that the straw is too narrow. You need a thick straw to increase the viscosity of your smoothie. Still I use them. You can use your own straw.
Is it worth it?
For this price ($219 for the Plus bundle), you get three bins, a 1200-watt motor, a compact footprint, and a two-year warranty. Coming from a blender with a cracked glass cup, I can absolutely say that’s true. It’s the kind you use every day. And when it comes to high-end blenders, it’s a good price!
Comparison with other Beast Blender
Beast makes a few different models, so here’s a quick breakdown:
Mega 1200 Plus ($219) — The one I have. Full bundle with all three container sizes. Great price if you need the entire system Mega 1200 ($184) — Same powerful base, but only comes with a 1000 mL container. If you only need one size, the Mighty 850 ($149) is a more compact 850-watt motor. Perfect if you have limited counter space or a budget, but still want a beast-quality Go Cordless ($114). Perfect for those who need portability.
For me, the Plus bundle was the obvious choice considering these three container sizes. But if you’re a solo blender and don’t need a lot of variety, you can save $35 by purchasing the base Mega 1200.
