Information (and conspiracy theories) about Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated wedding are trickling in at a glacial pace. So when one of her best friends, Selena Gomez, posted to her Instagram Story from the back of her car on the way to a rehearsal dinner on Thursday night, it sounded like a choir of angels singing. And thankfully, on Friday afternoon, her glam team gave us a clearer look at Gomez, who knows a thing or two about bridal beauty after celebrating her own wedding less than a year ago.
Gomez and hairstylist Renato Campora opted for a super sleek hairstyle. This is definitely one of the most well-sculpted buns we’ve seen on her (or anyone else) so far this year. Practically architectural in its precision, her hair is pulled straight back and upwards with no visible sections, creating a smooth and truly reflective surface from the hairline to the crown of the head. No strands flying or misplaced. But it’s a perfect finish.
The bun itself sits high on the crown of the head, and Renato somehow managed to achieve a perfectly circular hair. (I didn’t get out my drafting tools to confirm, but this is clearly a geometric hair miracle.) It’s voluminous yet compact, yet wrapped in such a way that it wouldn’t take half a bottle of Goo Gone to fill it.
The rest of Gomez’s beauty was just as sophisticated as her hair. Makeup artist Sue Park, who shared the stunning video above, pairs a sleek updo with softly sculpted skin, feathery brows, subtle winged shadow and liner, and fluttery lashes, but it looks like Gomez may have been responsible for applying the lip color herself. It’s a mysterious, shiny, and rare beauty lipstick that was painted on the aforementioned car.
